Suffer the Little Children to Come Unto Me
March 3, 2003 --

But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God. And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick and the afflicted.

Jacob 2:18-19

Woohoo! The first time that I've updated when I said I would!

I learned a great lesson about scripture study this week. Read each section three times:

My goal for this week is to keep on the same schedule I've had for my reading, but to re-read at lunch and before going to bed, keeping notes that summarize what I've read, then state principles I've learned, then the additional insights. We'll see how it works out.

Other than that, I am doing well but am very busy. While I'm making the transition to my new job, I temporarily have two jobs, plus school and some freelance work I'm doing for a friend. Everything should settle out by next week though.:)

A quick note about the scripture for this week: I don't think that it applies only to monetary gains. Rather, I think that the Lord only blesses us as much as we are able to handle. If some success or gain will lead us into pride or wickedness, He holds back. When we are ready to do with His gift as He would have us, then, and only then, do we receive it. I wonder sometimes how often I ask for a blessing when I should be asking for the wisdom and humility I need to use such a blessing correctly...

Well, that's it for today -- everyone take care and may the Lord bless each of you according to your needs.

Michael
