First, to answer come questions from my parents:
My new companion is Elder Goold. He's from Draper. He's been out for
about 1/2 a year. He's big into the Air Force. I dunno much about it
at all. We have some interesting conversations on scientific topics.
We had a baptism last night: Andre Paczocha, from Poland. It was a
complete success. Andre's doing well. I don't know him too well,
because I just got here. He speaks English pretty fluently.
Apparently he worked for Wal-mart for a while, but now he takes care
of in-home care patients (he's got a degree in it).
We don't have too much going on in this area, apparently. I've been
looking at former investigators and potential investigators that
haven't been contacted yet to see if we can make something happen.
The ward is very missionary-minded. At this point their throwing
around "non-invasive" ideas on how to do missionary work, like a
public fourm at the groundbreaking for the new building (occuring
within 2 or 3 months), "dinner groups," in which a member family has
dinner with a non-member family and other member families, and a
couple other things. I'm just trying to figure out how we can get
more investigators, because there aren't a lot of people at home
during the day, and we don't really have any set appointments in the
evening. Lots of biking in this area (especially since we don't have
a car). I think I've lost a bit of weight. Hopefully another week and
I'll be a bit more fit. I plan on running in the mornings my last 6
months.
I'm a little sick today, with an upset stomach, but I'll be okay.
Next week is stake conference. The stake is so big, that they're
splitting it into two sessions--we're in the 1 PM session. So Fast
Sunday was yesterday, and with General Conference being the first
Sunday in April, the next fast Sunday is the last week of March. Wow,
General Conference again. That means after this, I have one more, and
I'm home. I feel like the time is just going to fly by like never
before--a few months and boom, I'm home. Well, I have nothing to do
in the meantime, except work.
'Till next week!
