It's been pretty overcast for a while now, at least the past four
days. We had a zone conference in St. Robert (about an hour away) on
Thursday, and it started out alright, but later in the day it started
to snow, and then rain, and then we had a bit of an ice storm coming
back home. Since then it's been overcast, kinda foggy, and yesterday
it rained during church. Temperatures remained pretty low, but
luckily we didn't have much ice, even as we came in at the end of the
day. Last night we got some freezing rain, though, and woke up with
the trees and power lines having about .25" of ice, with tiny
icicles. They're melting as I type, and there's a bunch of ice that
falls in long strips.Sounds like Utah is getting a bunch of snow.
Elder Gregory is pretty excited, although he can't go snowboarding
there this year. David sent me a CD of the Bradshaw Family christmas
Party, which I greatly appreciate.
Elder Gregory and I have decided to do more work with less-actives and such, so we've been trying to get a hold of people and teach
them. It's been going okay so far, better than just tracting in the
cold and rain.
This week is going to be busy: exchanges tomorrow, interviews on
Thursday, Friday is the Houston Branch Christmas Party, and we're
going down to Winona on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night, the
Winona Branch is having a talent show. I volunteered to play the
guitar and sing. I'll be singing the children's hymn "Baptism," which
I was able to translate into Marshallese. So I guess it's called
"Baptaij." Maybe "Kon Baptaij" would be a better translation.
President Seal told me after zone conference that Winona may get a
couple of missionaries next transfer, as he needs to find an area to
open. They probably won't have a car, however. He's not sure what'll
happen with the Marshallese work, so I may not be going back to
Springdale, which means I may never get my salsa recipes from Juana
Paz.... :_-(
Anyway, I'm not sure what more to say right now, so I'll be signing off.
See ya later!
