Elder Bradshaw's Blog. (Letters sent to home.)
November 13, 2006
It looks like I will get to use e-mail, but only for family (and they

ask us to limit e-mails to parents), so I'll be using this email for

my to-everyone letters. I only get 1 hour on the computer, and the

website is absurdly slow, so I ask that you continue sending me mail,

and I will e-mail you, so I don't have to try and wait for it to load

my inbox, then your email, and then try to send a letter in time.

Anyone else can send me mail, and I can also send them letters.

I'll be sending a letter today that describes what happened on

Wednesday and Thursday while I was in the mission home, but I think

that you both should hear the news: President Seal has asked that,

after three months of being trained, that I go do Springdale,

Arkansas, and learn Marshallese, as there are 8,000 people from the

Marshall Islands there, and they refuse to learn (or maybe just

speak) English. He wants me to be there for about a year.

I've gotten a binder of lessons on Marshallese (they don't teach it

in the MTC), but I really need some linguistics help. They don't seem

to have what I need down here, so I need David's help: have him go to

the USU library, and look for a book on Marshallese. Probably the

easiest thing for him to do will to look for a particular series, the

Routlege Language Family Series (might be Routeledge, Routledge, or

Routelege, one of those four), particularly one about Oceanic or

Austronesian (I'm not sure which one), and have him copy pages on

Marshallese, and send them to me. My address is included in the

letter I am sending today. I'm gonna check out and see if I can do an

inter-library loan real quick, but if David can get that quicker, I'd

greatly appreciate it.

Things are going well. My trainer is Elder Morrill, who has been out

for 21 months. Sorry to be so brief, but I need to look for a book on

Marshallese that has more linguistic data than what I have. Also, if

you could find a Marshallese dictionary, that would greatly assist

me. Send it to me for Christmas or something. Oh, and whose name do I

have for Christmas?

Also, in my box of notes, if you could send me my green folder with

yoga stuff in it, I'd appreciate it ?(I'm thinking of using it for my

30 minutes of exercise). Also, in the brown box in the metal closet,

there's a clear plastic bag/container thing with some brown shoe

polish. If you could send these to Elder Lefranc (send them to the

mission home), as he could really use them. Be sure to get Heather

Fausett's address in Logan (heck, even Price will do). Also, if you

could print out my address on an envelope and have you send one of

your letters in that to me, it would help me in getting a library

card, so that I don't have to pay $2 for an hour of time (it took 15

minutes just to load the website), and possibly do an inter-library

loan for a book on Marshallese (already authorized by President Seal).

Anyway, I've gotta go. Take care!
