Looks like MyLDSMail.net is slow again today. Maybe it's just this

computer. I dunno.

Yes, the baptism was successfull, and the program was really good.

Apparently, Elder Kaneko taught Jamore back on the Marshall Islands

on exchanges with the missionaries. He said that back then he didn't

think Jamore would change, just continue drinking and such. So I

think it really strengthened his testimony to see Jamore change and

be baptized. Jamore's wife, Jamitha, was also baptized. I was able to

baptize Jamore.

It went really well. For some odd reason, I got an

instant headache right after. Everyone is way excited about it. We

have two more baptisms set for October 10th: Hanna Kaminaga and her

son, Tobo Kaminaga. Hanna and her husband, Joe, just need to be

remarried (complex legal issues, but they've finally been dealt

with), which should take place Wednesday night. I'm not sure what

will happen with the Marshallese work after that, as no one else

really comes to church. Elder Kaneko went with a member, and had an

investgator wait 20 minutes for her to get ready, and then she said

that she wasn't going. Ugh! Hopefully the work continues, but I have

no idea what will happen. I have no idea how much longer I will be

here. A transfer would be nice, but I'm okay with staying for at

least one more. Probably not much more than that if the work doesn't

keep going forward. Well, looks like I can say that I lived in

Arkanasas for a year.

It's good to hear my guitar is still in-tune and sounds well--even

after 1 year. That's why I spent $1200 for the Gibson J-45. She's a

beauty. She'll be the first thing I play when I get home. Looks like

I may not have to tune her! We have a member here that works at a

music place, and he said that we can just head down on Preparation

Day and play (although they no longer are a Gibson dealer). I may

have to settle with a $3000 Taylor. Elder Kankeo is way excited to

play a ukelele again.

It's starting to get cold here. We're getting into the 70s, it looks

like. Still about 90 in the early afternoon, though. I wonder if it

will be as warm as last winter--I was still sweating a week before

Christmas! One month until suitcoat season, uh!

I've been missing Rock quite a bit lately. On Thursday we had a

district meeting with the Assistants, and then we went to eat at

Little Johnny's, a little Mexican taquiera that has amazing tortas

and the best horchata ever. On our way out, there was a Latin rock

band playing. It was such good rock, and in Spanish! I feel like I'm

ready to go home, but I also feel like I can stay for a little while.

Hopefully what everyone says is true--after 1 year, the time flies

by, and before you know it, you're home. I've been expecting to wake

up on the floor at home, but it hasn't happened yet (I'm back to

sleeping on the floor again. It's great!). Ah well.

David and Besty sent me a letter and some pictures--one of my next

nephew. Apparently Tommy Emmanuel also came back to Utah State

(aaarrrggghhh!), and they were able to get me an autographed photo!

Way cool!

If you're reading this, Dillon, Heather Duke, and Dallas--send me a

letter. As well as anyone else reading my e-mails and not sending me

a letter.

Anyway, I'd better get going. Need to fit some time to jam out with

Elder Kaneko. Booyah!
