Entry for May 2, 2007
April 30 (Dad was late posting this)
Restatement from a previous letter: There's been some changes. There
is no threesome. Currently, Elder Jaynes is now training Elder
Kaneko, and they are doing English and Marshallese work. I am with
Elder Valai-Tafunga, a Samoan from Hawai'i, and we're doing Spanish
work.
Elder Valai-Tafunga is pretty cool. Elder Kaneko is short (probably
5' 3"), loud, and really extroverted. He's hillarious! On the way
back from the Rogers stake center from transfers, he kept saying
"Oooooo!" and "Wooooow!"
Honestly, I feel pretty worthless right now. I only know enough
Spanish to hand out a pass-a-long card and tell someone to call the
phone number. So Elder Valai-Tafunga has been doing pretty much
everything. The transfer has just barely begun, and Elder
Valai-Tafunga is already getting exhausted. I wish I could help him
more, but I don't know what to do. I'm supposed to continue to learn
Marshallese, as next transfer I will be training Elder Albert from
the Marshall Islands. Elder Valai-Tafunga will be training a new
Spanish missionary, so we're going to have to go looking for an
apartment for them one of these days.
I have 55 minutes on my phone card. Go ahead and send me a new one.
I'll send out another list of stuff next week for birthday present
ideas and such. I still haven't received Spoken Marshallese, or a
package other than the two CDs (thanks, by the way).
Anyway, I can't think of much more about what to say. Things are
going pretty well. Congradulations to David on his graduation
(FINALLY!!!), and Happy Birthday to Remy, and all those who I forgot
to say Happy Birthday to....
See you all next week!
