Azguard Pass
Main

This is basically an addition to the Collchuck hike (See second gallery), except this time Greg and I went beyond it and up the mountains surrounding the lake.  Much fun!

#1 This was taken from the other side of the lake.  That mountain over there is right next to the pass that we went up.
#2 Along the way we passed a smaller lake.  The sun was just right for it to reflect everything with a mirror-like quality.  I thought it looked pretty damn cool :)
#3 Another pic of the reflections, closer up.
#4 And a third reflection pic, but this one was taken on the shore of Collchuck.  That silt beach you see there was created by a glacier.
#5 This is about halfway up the pass, looking to the right at what the trail looks like. And yes, I was holding the camera perfectly level. Let me tell you; that is some BADASS terrain.
#6 And this is looking to the left.
#7 And this is looking back down on Collchuck.
#8 It took us about two hours to get to the top.  It was pretty sweet up there, though.  VERY high up.  Here's a collection of pics taken from up there; this is is looking to the ridge on the left.
#9 And this is looking straight out over Collchuck.  Whoever said the world is small never stood on top of a mountain.
#10 And finally the ridge on the right.
#11 The terrain up there was fairly flat and rocky, and there was a lot of red snow up there (the red is caused by bacteria that lives in it).  All in all it was fairly featureless, so I didn't take too many pics of the scenery.
#12 Another pic of some of the hills and ridges.  The tops of the ridges almost reminded me of a fortress.  Might be a good place to go paintballing ;p
#13 Also there was a nice stream up there that snaked though most of the area.  Drinking it was like chewing on ice.. it was FREAKING cold. Course we purified it first :p
