We, the Committee, Scoutmaster Council, and Parents of ELCOR Troop 155 agree that the following contract to be a manifesto consistent with the traditions of The Boy Scouts of America, and agree that the conditions stated in these pages are merited in order to maintain the integrity of the scouts, parents, and leaders of ELCOR Troop 155, and The Cradle of Liberty Council of The B.S.A..

Furthermore, we agree that in order to infuse the basic values of Boy Scouting upon our children we must abide by these conditions, and carry them out for generations of Scouts to discover.  That failure to do this could threaten the traditions, and values of ELCOR Troop 155.

 

Therefore, it is our duty as parents, leaders, committee members, and friends to present this contract as a script for the well being of our children and for ELCOR Troop 155.

 

 

 

ARTICLE 1:0 - CONTRABAND

 

I) Any scout caught possessing, selling, trading, or using any type of ILLEGAL shall be suspended for the next 3 camping events.  A second offense carries with it a 6 month suspension from camping events and immediate dismissal from the occurring event that the offense takes. (I.E.: If the troop is on a camping event during which a second offense takes place.  The scouts, parents will be notified to come pick up their child. NOTE: Distance, travel time and/or expense of travel, in that case will not be the responsibility of Troop 155).    A third offense will mean permanent expulsion from all Troop activities.

 

II) The Following may be considered “Contraband”:

     1) Tobacco (if under 18) including: Chew, Snuff, Cigarettes, or Cigars

2) Alcohol, or alcohol containers                                                                        

3) any illegal drug, or substance or device used in the consumption of an illegal drug or substance

4) Fireworks, Firecrackers, or any combustible or flammable substance not intended for relevant camping use.

    5) Knives (sheathed, serrated, or larger than hand)

6) Sling Shots, BB guns, wrist rockets or any device used to expel a projectile that could potentially damage property or cause bodily harm.

7) Any implements used in the vandalism of property, including, spray paint, paint pens, markers, paint ball guns, and paint or smoke grenades.

     8) Firearms

9) or any substance that under the discretion of the S.M.C. may be considered contraband.


 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 2:0 -   BEHAVIOR

 

I) Any Scout who intentionally harms, threatens, or endangers the well-being of himself or those around him may be reprimanded at the desecration of the S.M.C..

 

II) Any Scout caught in the act of breaking and entering and/or trespassing of any structure, building, or entity of private ownership shall be reprimanded at the desecration of the S.M.C..

 

III) Any Scout involved in any unauthorized[1] activity during, after or en route to a sanctioned scouting activity shall be reprimanded at the desecration of the S.M.C..

 

IV) Any scout who deserts his unit, or wanders off for any length of time without verbal, or knowledgeable consent of the S.M.C shall be reprimanded at the desecration of the S.M.C..

 

V) Any scouts who attempts to mimic, or mock another scout, scout leader, or parent, verbally or physically shall be reprimanded at the desecration of the S.M.C..

 

VI) Any scout who willingly attempts to wrongfully manipulate another scout into any such mentioned behavior shall be reprimanded at the desecration of the S.M.C..

 

ARTICLE 3:0 - OPERATIONS

 

I) FEES

A) Each scout, and his parent or guardian agree to pay all fees, as set by the troop committee, in full, and on time.

SUCH FEES INCLUDE:

1) Registration (payment made upon new enrollment only)

2) Bi-Annual Dues paid in January and September ($100 per/Yr)

3) T-shirt Fees of $5.00 per shirt (minimum 2 shirts per scout)

4) All Camping Fees ($25)

A) Scout will not attend event unless fees are paid 2 weeks prior to event.       

 

 

 


ARTICLE 3:0 - OPERATIONS     

 

II) TRANSPORTATION and PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

 

 

A) TRANSPORTATION

   Each parent must provide transportation to 2 camping events throughout the camping year (Sept- June). Dates will be coordinated periodically throughout the year in order to provide adequate time for the necessary arrangements to be made. In the event a parent needs to change or cancel a date, it is asked that 2 weeks notice be given, and 24 hours in the case of emergency. Tentative camping schedules will be handed out in the beginning of the camping year and updated periodically at bi-yearly parents meetings. and can be accessed at http://www.geocities.com/elcor155/index.html 

 

                 B) PARENTS MEETINGS

            We would ask that at least one parent or guardian of each scout  to attend the Bi-yearly parents meetings  held in September and January.
