| July 16th, 2004 [12:30am] - Back in school? OMGWTF update soon. June 27th, 2004 [10:42pm] - the large bump in the road I would like to make an announcement. The pain is temporarily over! Step I of the USMLE is over. I took it on the 25th (after originally scheduling it for the 19th). Yeah, it was hard! But who cares? It's done!!! Also, Cosplayer Complex Update, in honor of the upcoming Expo. email: [email protected] password: cosplay Now I can Gunbound at will! Mwahahaha. Oh, other news. Erik Johnsen fought off a bear last week while camping with his beloved Jami. While sleeping in the tent, they both heard a bear outside. Erik, being the Davy Crockett he is, decided to scare away the bear with pots and pans. Crazy fool. I'm glad he didn't get mauled. He really is a Bruin. More news. I got Unreal Tournament 2004 for the PC. All would-be challengers step up. Also, congratulations to Ean, Nidhi, Sonia, Mike, Yvonne, Phil, Roxy, Lisa, & the millions & millions for finishing the Step I exams as well. Good luck to Jenn "Alatariel" Hung, Suparna "Merenwen" the Gym-rat on their upcoming examinations. My cousin Vicky is getting married next week. So is my friend Gary. Oh wait, they're getting married to each other. That's convenient. I don't have to go to 2 separate weddings now. =D Anything else? Yes. Anime Expo coming up this weekend. I can't go all 4 days, due to the wedding, but I'll be there on Sunday and part of Monday. This is great. I have nothing in my head at the moment. No need to plan anything, what to study, blah blah. All i need to focus on is breathing, eating and not tripping while I'm walking. This is the life. Listening to: "Scheherzade - by Rimski-Korsafov" June 3rd, 2004 [3:03am] - Cosplay, play, simple HUGE cosplayer complex VI update. some truly excellent costumes!!! Reviews say it rocks. I will be there. Board-studying be damned. May 26, 2004 [2:09pm] - i ought to be studying...but i'm not! alright, people are telling me that the link for Cosplayer Complex isn't working. That's a bummer, seeing as i don't like seeing all my hard work go to waste! Don't cry yet! So here's the deal. click on the link, if it doesn't work, log in. email address: [email protected] password: cosplay May 25th, 2004 [8:28pm] - easy on the eyes that last background and sidebar i had was really bugging me. I hope this one is better, maybe a bit easier on the eyes. my neighbors are playing mah-jong again. i better go study somewhere else. May 22, 2004 [3:17am] - See? People really come here! Updates: Cosplayer Complex VI added! (click on top right!) Jeed Lecture 2004 (messageboards) At last. The 2nd year of medical school is officially "over". I now have less than one month's time to study my brains out for the Step I examination on June 19th. Today, we had our end of the year Comprehensive Examination, which encompassed everything since the first day of classes of our first year. The test was......SO HARD. I'm not quite sure that you understand. It was SO HARD. I will never believe anything USC says to us again. They say God is in the details. Therefore, it is only appropriate to respond to this test by saying "MY GOD". However, there were also questions whose wording was incredibley hazy. One of my favorite questions had to be: "A man presents to the clinic with vague symptoms. He has a WBC count of 40,000. His WBC breakdown is approximately 85% lymphocytes. What is the most likely diagnosis?" WTF?!?!? Man, vague symptoms like that, with a vague question....I'm afraid I can only provide vague answers. I think I put down CLL (that's Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia), but who knows? Maybe it was a CMV infection....that was my 2nd guess. My 3rd guess was "Lab Error". Unfortunately, that wasn't an option. If it was, the proper course of action would be to "reassure the patient, and send his ass packing in a merry manner." Anyway, I went for a run the other day, and while I was resting on the ground, staring up at the sky, I suddenly became extremely appreciative of gravity. Dude, the SKY looks like a long way to fall. I was thankful I would never have to fall that far up. It looks like it could hurt. Then, I noticed a strange-looking cloud. It was long, and looked like it had haustra. I diagnosed it with Villous Adenoma. It got mad, so I told it that it was probably a "lab error". Then I ran back to my apt. Another thing I'd like to mention in this update is my congratulations to Nick Barclift for graduating. Congratulations!!! I also just saw Shrek 2. Vastly better than the first Shrek, which I didn't like all that much. This one was great, however. Princess Fiona is hot. Ean thinks the Fairy Godmother is hot. Ean also thinks that dinosaur fossils are really discarded chicken bones of giant picnicking aliens. Ean thinks a lot of things. Leave a message on the messageboards! Speak your mind! Let all 3 other people who frequent this site know what YOU think! March 23rd, 2004 [8:04pm] - Try me The threat of the Step I examination is becoming more real everyday, and as a result, I also feel more and more frustrated with our school curriculum. These integrated cases are well-intentioned, sure....but seriously, I feel that I could be much better off studying on my own. It's like having your hand held and forced to learn according to somebody else's idea of "effective learning". Except that their style isn't effective......at all......not for me anyway. Well, at least I got to rap today. =) Yes, I am very proud of what I did. It was a lot of fun, and it gave me the opportunity to impress the MDL facilitator. Mwahahaha. I'm kidding about that last part. Really. Here's a copy if you're curious. Rheumatic Fever - Lose Yourself. News elsewhere. My sister finally got her license. Congratulations. Sonia Johnson won 2nd place in the woman's amateur division for Rock Climbing......#2 in the country. Holy crap. I also watched School of Rock over the spring break. What a great film. Anyway, that's all for now. I have a lot of reading and reviewing to do. Late fools. Currently listening to: "Dvorak - New World Symphony" (idea blatantly ripped-off of J. Hung) March 16th, 2004 [10:13pm] - Vesuvan Dopplegangers So here I was, minding my own business, while I'm checking my Yahoo! Mail account. Now you all know that Yahoo has lots of ads. These include advertisements for Yahoo! Personals (which provides hours of entertaiment, mind you). However, this Yahoo Personals ad I spotted was different from all the others. In fact, it was kinda funny. I'll let you be the judge. Yahoo! Personals Ad compared with John and Jenn Tell me I'm wrong. It's uncanny. John denies it, but I don't believe him. Actually, I just enjoy giving him a hard time. He's in Hawaii right now, so he can't hurt me. Mwahaha. And as for all of you that understood the title of this update....... You're a nerd!!!! March 14th, 2004 [5:51pm] - phazick's special move I almost forgot to mention! Visit "www.geocities.com/MDLKings" for the official website of our medical school Gunbound clan! We are the MDL Kings. We're the best team ever. But only if we actually hit our opponents and not each other. We're not very good when we shoot each other. Everyone tends to get mad, then we don't talk to each other for a few days at school. But it's a game! So it's all good. March 12th, 2004 [2:16pm] - premature Click on the menu bar to see old menu pictures! WOW ! I would like to thank everybody who has supported me for these past 1.5 years. I have finished my systems exams. I have passed them all! I have thrown down my enemy, and I spit upon its corpse. Ptooie. Yes, but of course, it will all be for naught if I don't pass the board exams. Good thing I'm a Bacc/MD! (wait....what? Bacc/MD doesn't exempt me from Boards? what?!? oh crap.) Hold up, correction. I am still in deep schiezer. My enemy has resurrected and is now getting up to fight me again! *Grandpianist E spits on enemy level 4. *Grandpianist E misses. doh. other info: - sonia johnson will be competing in the nationals for rock climbing next Saturday. - i have been told that Jennifer Love Hewitt's are real. - cool. - i picked up an interest in Liszt's piano concerto #2. need to secure a copy of it somehow. - Nidhi and Ean are going out (i put her name first because she can beat him up) - lemme check.....yep, i'm still single. March 10th, 2004 [8:17pm] - hurrah! Cosplayer Complex EX V (that's roman numeral FIVE) Also, I would like to mention that Jenn went to a Britney Spear concert on Monday night. Ms./Mrs. Spears performed "Toxic", and Jenn called me when she did. That is total sweetness. Domo to Jenn. Visit her journal under the Links section. March 8th, 2004 [12:06am] - Are you a true believer? It's Sunday night......and lo and behold....a hath taken me! I am updating!!! *in awed silence* (you are, that is) So yeah, for those of you true Believers that continued to visit on occasion in search of my wisdom....but were denied due to my lack of updating.....I apologize. As for the rest of you who didn't notice my sabbatical.....I hope you get sat on by a great big fat woman. So, what's in store for this incredible update? Nothing at the moment. Just an announcement that I'll be updating again....I think. So rejoice, and break out the 1957 Chardonnay (I totally pulled that one out of my butt, I know nothing about wine....except that too much of it causes perivenular fibrosis in your liver). That's bad. Oh yeah. Yao kicked some ass today.....again. I am all smiles since then. jajajajajaja. Meanwhile, here is a link to the Rocket's Power Dancers. How come all the asian girls in there (i think there's 2 of them.....one might be questionably Mexican) are all skanky lookin'? Lemme tell you something. Non-asian people in general have very different perceptions of asian-beauty than Asians do. It's very strange. The Rockets need some Power Dancers that look like this. NEW Rocket's Power Dancer. Heck yea. You know you like it. Especially you Scott. January 5th, 2004 [10:48pm] - Ryan & Lisa OKAY!!! I've updated!!! Updates: Lisa Sodetani & Ryan Stark Profiles More later, I need to go to bed. Much to say. December 6th, 2003 [8:18pm] - Monster Yao Rockets win again! Yao is a monster! 22 points! 20 rebounds! 4 blocks!!! Truly, today is a good day. Other news: Nick Barclift of "I too, have lived with George" fame got the opportunity to watch Return of the King on Thursday night. To top things off, he also got to see Sean Astin (Sam), Billy Boyd (Pippin), & Andy Serkis (Gollum). We hates him. Well, beyond that, it would appear that finals time has approached for many of us. Good luck to everyone. I myself only have one exam, being the Endocrine System Exam on the 19th of December. Why is it so late? Curses. More updates when I get more desperate for distraction. Which probably won't be long. |
