Sidewalks are one of those things that we all take for granted. When was the last time YOU took the time to appreciate a sidewalk? They are truly wonders of modern engineering.
Sidewalks lift you up from the dangers of the street, they provide a solid place to put your feet while walking. They come in all sizes and shapes, wondrous forms and fantastic textures.
Why, just last week I had the good fortune of walking on a sidewalk paved with a classic Greek shell formation made with Huntington Concrete and sealed with Marty's Fine Colored Gravel.
Growing up in Lynn Ranch, Thousand Oaks, I never had the opportunity to truly understand and appreciate sidewalks until I was in my early teens. Why? Because for some strange reason, my neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks. What gives?!? Someone once told me that it's because residents of Lynn Ranch are allowed to own horses.
Which makes absolutely no sense to me.
