My personal opinion of rats has always remained rather impartial. I neither hate them, nor do I love them. I suppose the reason many people on this planet of ours dislike rats for one of 2 main reasons.
One, they are often the harbingers for all sorts of disease and famine (a very good reason, I might add, to dislike rats).
Second, rats lack furry tails. This is probably the single most un-cute aspect of being a rat. Imagine a rat with a big fluffy tail. Very cute. I would probably be unsuccessful in restraining myself from giving it a big huggy-wuggy myself.
So yeah, I don't really have an attachment to rats with unfluffy tails. Which is good. This makes my work at Hedco all the more easier to stomach. k'chop!
Unfortunately, I have recently become so numb towards rats that I don't feel much of anything when I kill one at work. When other people see a rat, they see a furry rodent, the big teeth, and the cute ears. I see a brain and two hippocampi lodged within it. And I think to myself, "I MUST HAVE THOSE HIPPOCAMPI." It's really sick.
My mom freaks out whenever she sees a rat. This has nothing to do with anything, but I thought it was an interesting fact I should bring up. For those of you like my mom (and I know there's a lot of you, I recommend that you all visit this site "www.ratfanclub.org". The title of the page pretty much sums it all up.
And yes, Mickey Mouse is really a rat. I want to take his hippocampus too.
