Jamus and Carolyn on their Own

Besides enjoying our visits from the girls and their grandparents, we made a trip back to Washington to bring some of our stored belongings down to Globe and attended a vintage car show downtown and the Gila County Gem and Mineral Society's annual show, among other outings. Coming up later this spring are the Arizona Renaissance Faire, highland games (now, you knew we had to find highland games in Arizona!) and another concert by Great Big Sea, this time in Tucson.

On our move from Washington, we stopped
at the railroad museum in Sacramento.

We also stopped in California to have
dinner with Donna, one of Carolyn's
online friends, and her husband Mark.

At Miami's Boomtown Spree,
Jamus checked out a display of
antique steam equipment.

Jamus tried his first Indian
frybread at Boomtown.

Kids had a chance to compete in junior
versions of the mining competitions at
Boomtown, like this mucking contest.

The costumed Copper Belles rode
down Broad Street in the Gila County
Rodeo Parade.

Colorful Mexican dancers were
also on parade.

The Gold'n'Oldies Car Club
held its annual car show.
in downtown Globe.

This great resto rod also
caught our eye.

And this cool woodie
made us want to shout,
"Surf's up!"

We went to San Diego to spend Mother's Day
with Jamus' family, his mom Rhea and dad Jim,
as well as his brother Dave and his wife Mina.

Before dinner, we got a chance
to catch up with Dave and his new
bride, whom we met for the first time.

In October, we went to Phoenix for an emergency
equipment swap meet where we saw several vintage firetrucks.

The gem and mineral show
had many displays and dealers.

One of the interesting collections
on display at the show
