How to Form the plural of a noun in Spanish
There are three simple rules for formation of the plural in Spanish.
1. If a noun ends in a vowel (a, e, i, o, u), add an "s." Examples: libro>libros; ventana>ventanas;hombre>hombres
2. If a noun ends in a consonant (any letter other than a vowel), add "es." Examples: animal>animales; profesor>profesores; universidad>universidades
3. If a noun ends in a "z," change the "z" to a "c," and then add "es." Examples: pez>peces, vez>veces; lápiz>lápices
