I'm glad to see you made it to my website. My name is Emily Rittner. I am 23 years old and will be 24 on January 15th. I graduated from Cumberland Valley on June 6, 2000. I recently graduated from Millersville University on December 19, 2004. (yeah marauders!) I received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in both Elementary and Special Education. I am now a Learning Support teacher in Central Dauphin School District. I teach at E.H. Phillips Elementary and Rutherford Elementary Schools.

During college, I had the privilage of being part of Phi Eta Sigma (aka, the freshman national honor society) I was inducted my sophomore year of college (like every member). The following school year (2002-2003) I became the organizations Treasurer. My senior year, I took on the role of being the President, which was something I enjoyed doing. Because I was only a student for one more semester (Fall of '04), I gave up that role and will only be secretary for my last semester. I couldn't commit to being President while student teaching. I was still happy I could be involved in PES this way. While in college, I was also a member of Circle K (the college version of key club) and University Christian Fellowship. (UCF) |

I currently live in Mechanicsburg, PA. I have a sister named Alysia who is a junior Art Ed/Social Work major. She also goes to Millersville and is involved in UCF. During my last semester of college,I had the opportunity to induct her into Phi Eta Sigma as well. I had a cat named Skeeter, who was put to rest on April 26, 2005 due to his poor health. He was 12 years old. I will miss him greatly as I had him since 5th grade.
Now that I am out of college, a lot has been going on in my life. Several days after graduation, I had to go into the hospital and had surgery in February. In between my first hospital visit and the surgery , I began working at Mcdonalds again. I have worked there since May of 1998 (at age of 16). I have been a manager since March. I also was a substitute teacher for Cumberland Valley and Mechanicsburg while doing my job search and during the summer I worked for the Mechanicsburg Recreation Dept. (4th year) and at Mcd's. Starting this school year, I will be a teacher at Central Dauphin as stated earlier. |

My screen name came from the summer before my senior year in high school. I was at Centrifuge (the church camp I went to). During my bible study we played the name game where we had to think up a word starting with the same letter our first name started with. At the time, the only word I could think of was elastic and it was a joke the whole week. The 2 came from when my friend Emmalie King and I were singing together during Youth Sunday. Instead of saying Emily twice they called us Emily squared.
The elastic also reminds me that needs to be flexible with everything I am involved in.
