My previous summer garden as it started to blossom showed the yellow evening primrose giving a splash of  yellow everywhere you looked.  The Peter Pan fountain looks happy playing his pipes!  The delphinium in this picture were the most incredible two toned blue and blue-purple.  A few were  picked for the pressing book. Also in this bed I had a white hydrangea bush, clematis  trailing on the lattice fence, some Scottish bluebells, alstromeria, dianthus, campanula, roses, 2 canna lilies and mexican heather.
Below are a variety of shots of my previous summer garden.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.  It was a lot of work keeping on top of tending to these flowers but very rewarding and very peaceful.

view looking from the patio at the back door.  Boy, that evening primrose is even growing up the hill, what a show!  Too bad it doesn't stick around for too long. view looking into the garden from the back door

you can just see the swans on the right hand side of the picture.  There are three which hold different coloured pansies.
I used to love watching the roses climb up the side of the house at the beginning of summer.  They provided a real show of red and some pink, and the evening primrose again started to take over, but I still loved the splash of yellow it provided in July.
To the right is a pic of a flower I tried pressing for the first time, growing it by seed.  It is called the Poached Egg Flower.
It's name is certainly appropriate!
