What's up with the frogs???

I am often asked, "Elaine, what's up with the frogs? Why do you like frogs so much?"

Well, first of all, with their fat, squishy little bodies, big eyes, and suction-cup fingers, frogs are exceptionally cute. At night, adhered to my bedroom window, they look like tiny space aliens waiting for winged invaders to land on their glass base. These winged invaders, in their innocent quest for a source of light, meet their demise as a long, pink alien tongue of doom coils tightly around them. Within half a second, the invaders have become the main course at a cruel alien feast. With their bug-filled bellies pressed to the glass, the little green window monsters smile happily, and croak. Now come on, what's cuter than that.

In addition to being cute, frogs are a symbol of good luck in many cultures. For example, the Chinese believe that a three-legged frog with a coin in its mouth, known as the Three-Legged Money Frog, will bring wealth and good fortune when positioned properly inside one's house or shop. In ancient Egypt, frogs were a symbol of fertility and rebirth. The goddess Heqet was known as the Frog-Headed Goddess. Depicted as either a frog or a goddess with a frog's head, she was believed to be the protector of newborn babies. Similarly, many Native American cultures regard frogs as a symbol of rebirth and renewal.

If I haven't yet convinced you of the greatness of frogs, then just take a look at this little guy!
