Christmas
Letter 2004
I almost didn’t
write an end-of-the-year letter this year, but because of popular demand
(mainly Emi and Andrew), here goes…
2004 – The Year of Technology
I started the year
2004 with my first digital camera. Because
I didn’t own a computer and I needed a place to store my pictures, and because I needed a computer for other reasons, I bought a laptop. Also in the
year 2004, I started IM-ing more, I started a blog, and I bought
a TV tuner for my laptop (before buying my laptop, I didn’t watch TV for 3
years for various reasons). So, 2004 has
been filled with all sorts of technological advances for me.
Church
Also this year,
I’ve been more involved at church. I help out with the communion ministry,
assigning volunteers to help prepare communion each week. I also led the children’s choir for the
Christmas service on December 19. It was
a challenging experience because I’m not good at commanding a group of kids,
and I’m not a trained vocal teacher or director, but I am musical, and I was
told that I have a nurturing personality, so I accepted the offer to lead the choir. The kids range from ages 3 to 11. Some rehearsals were good, and some were
okay, but the final product was great.
The 10-year-old boy who didn’t want to stand during rehearsal sang with
the rest of the choir. The kids who
seemed to be distracted easily were focused on the day of the performance. They did a great job.
Knitting
Also this year, I
took up knitting. It’s fun!
Anyhoo, I wish you
a merry Christmas!
“…and a little child shall lead
them.” – Isaiah 11:6
