Homos bitahina

Homos Bitahina is very popular in Lebanon
and it is a must on the table for lunch.
It’s a nourishing dish that can be eaten
with any food, even barbecues.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chickpeas
  • ½ cup of Tahina (sesame seeds)
  • 2 crushed garlics
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • 1 lemon
  • a dash of salt
  

 

Directions:

Soak the Chickpeas in water for 6 hours. Wash the chickpeas with cold water, and boil them until they become very soft. Put the chickpeas, garlic and Tahina in the blender and blend them until they become creamy. Add lemon juice and put everything in flat dish. Pour olive oil on it and eat it with bread.
