Through The Looking Glass

Comments: Neil Gaiman arrived in the Philippines and had a signing last July 9, 2005.

Among the many activities during his visit was a drawing contest that he judged himself.

I decided to enter my Through The Looking Glass (click here to see 2004 version), but revised. Apart from increasing the size, among the things added were more detail to the hair as well as color adjustments to the whole image. All in all though I tried to preserve the original painting since I didn't want it to lose the energy that made it what it is.

Although I lost (sob, sniff, sob), according to one of the head organizers of the event: I was actually in the running to get an Honorable Mention (I am taking that statement with a grain of salt though).

Still, it was a fun evening that I shall remember fondly. I mean, for crying out loud, I saw Neil Gaiman in person!!!!
