Comments: Personally I call this picture the Widowmaker. It was so tough to do!
First of all, there are 2 characters in the foreground of this picture interacting with one another. I had to keep their features and body structure relatively proportionate to each other. The biggest complaint I had was that the hand was too big. I arrogantly disagreed. Now that I look at it again though It is HUGE!
Second, their positioning sucks! It is nearly impossible to find any reference photos of any girl looking upwards the way one of the characters is. Why is it so hard? I think it's because nobody wants to see the inside of their nostrils. Not to mention the fact that nobody looks good from that angle (at least from the reasearch I did anyway). Also The other girl had to be drawn in profile. In some of the older versions of this picture she ended up looking like a man. In some ways she still does.
Thirdly, I had to fill up a whole stadium with people. As you can see the original 3d CG of the stadium is pretty simple as can be seen in the parts that still show through. I used 3d CG so I wouldn't have to deal with keeping the perspective of the stadium just right throughout the whole comic book. I still have to manually fill it in with with people and add texture to the structures. I have too fill in a whole stadium and still keep everything consistent with what was seen on the previus frames: posters, people, and all! A WHOLE STADIUM!
Lastly, one of the girls is blonde. People say blondes have more fun. They never mention if the people drawing them do. I have always had trouble coloring blondes. I always make their hair too yellow. I still dont like the way I did it.
