Comments: I had a blast doing this. It was tricky getting everything into place though.
The stadium itself is a 3d CG model with texture, people, and banners added in later by hand. The reason I made it in 3d was so I wouldnt have to redraw everything again and again, not to mention that I didn't need to worry about getting the perspective right because the computer did it for me. The perspective thing worked out, but the redrawing thing... Let me put it this way: I ended up doing a lot of work anyway.
The giant robot was done by R.S. in pencil on paper. R.S. did all the amazing giant robot designs in this project, by the way. I colored it in and added some wear and tear to it. Now that i look at it again I dont know how I inteded to repeat all those patterns throughout the whole comic book to make it look consistent. By the way this isn't the same robot used in the Promo Picture. This was the girls original robot that by the end of this issue gets trashed.
The debris of rocks and destroyed robot parts and weapons in the left side was fun to do, but most people didn't get it. They still don't.
The girl talking is the same girl in the (3) Character 03 picture. I don't think she ended up looking too good here. She seems too manish and the reflections of the green monitor on her face make her look like the Incredible Hulk.
The part I really hated doing on this picture was the clouds. I could never get it just right.
Some of you may not have noticed but Minky makes a cameo on this picture. Minky's on the billboard by the way. It says: "MINKY - computer controlled cuteness"
Another person that makes a cameo on this picture is a rather famous Pop star who is in the covered structure at the far end of the picture. He's in the window right above the giant robot's left hand. He's pixel sized, I know but if you look closely you'll see... hmm... hey is that white spot over there that he's dangling on the ledge... is that a baby? Shocking.
