ALL ABOUT ME!
Hello!!!!! My name is Steve.  I have been deaf since birth.  I was raised in in a hearing family which explains why I'm accustomed to hearing world.  I attended public school in Longview, WA. for approximately 8 years (from 4 years old to 12 years old.)  I attended Washington State School for the Deaf until I graduated in 1984.

After graduation from high school, I went straight to NTID (National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York).  However, I realized it wasn't right school for me.  I returned to Seattle, WA. where I attended Seattle Central Community College.  My sister, Beth was also attending S.C.C.C. where she earned a degree in interpreting.  (She currently owns the interpreting services along with 7 other interpreters in Seattle, WA.  Needless to say, I'm very proud of her.

After working for a while in Seattle, I realized I wanted to get further in education.  Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., the world's only liberal arts university for Deaf was the next step for me.  I admit I had many good experience as a student at Gallaudet.  It had a huge impact on me regarding Deaf Culture.  I earned Bachelor's Degree in psychology which I'm proud of this accomplishment.  My experiences at Gallaudet was the turning point in decision to setting up a website regarding to Deaf people and their culture.

A little bit more about me.  I do have several hobbies.  I enjoy reading fantasy books.  I have several collections of those books laying around in my apartment.  I also like being outdoors especially when weather is beautiful and warm.   I like to work on such as website designing, learning how it works and doing repairs on computers.

My current project is adding some new information on this website such as American Sign Language, the researches I've done as a student at Gallaudet and recommendations on books.  I am also working on ideas for future additions such as tips to communicate with a Deaf person at a party or maybe a family reunion where the majority of people are hearing.
This wolf is one of my alltime favorite animal on Earth.  I have always admired those wolves for their loyalty, intelligence and works well together in the pack.
