Jonah Lim is the youngest in the family with six children. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree major in Film and Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. With a communication scholarship from the David C. Cook foundation, he went to Chiangmai, Thailand to take up his Graduate Diploma in Christian Communication with a special feature in Video and Multi-Media Production at the Asian Institute of Christian Communication. His Master in Communication Management degree major in Media Management was taken at the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication.  He pursued the Master of Fine Arts degree in Film and Television Production with an emphasis in Production at Chapman University School of Film and Television. He was the first student to complete the degree in two years instead of the prescribed three.

He has worked as a producer, writer, and director in various local and international film and media projects.  He was the producer in the translation and dubbing of Jesus film from English to Burmese and eight  Philippine languages under the Jesus Film Project International based in Laguna Niguel, California. He was also the crew coordinator of Arrowhead Productions International based in Arrowhead Springs, California of a video documentary that was shown worldwide. He was involved as an assistant director for a television movie shown in the Philippines.
He is the author of �Creative Imaging: An Introduction to Film,� a reference and textbook on film appreciation used by educational institutions in the country. The book is endorsed by the Philippine Association of Communication Educators with foreword by multi-awarded film director and national artist for film, Eddie Romero.

Jonah is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Communication of Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines. He was the Faculty-in-Charge of the School for three semesters and the coordinator of Silliman Television for one semester.

His photos entitled �9/11: A Year After� have been exhibited back-to-back with the works of noted American landscape photographer Joel Meyerowitz last September 2003 at Silliman University.

His documentary �Nightmail: Pinoy Style� was officially selected in the 1995 Alternative Film and Video Festival sponsored by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He was also a finalist in the 1991 FPJ Screenwriting Competition sponsored by the Screenwriters Guild of the Philippines and Film Academy of the Philippines. Ten years later, he received a Jury Citation for Short Feature for his film �Rescue in F minor� at the 2001-2002 eKsperim[E]nto Film and Video Festival.

His other films have been screened at the Laguna Beach Film Festival (California), Pink Bubble Bath: The Sexy Film Festival (Los Angeles), Giggleshorts: Toronto International Comedy Short Film Festival, and
eksperim[E]nto Film and Video Festival. His films were also shown in cultural and educational institutions in the Philippines.
