| In 1998 Nintendo announced and released Poke`mon from Japan to North America. Pronounced (?Poh-Kay-mon?) The world wide pop culture craze with the slogan "Gotta catch 'em all!" became a hit in North America. Nintendo sold millions of copes through out North America. In 1999 things really started up with such release of Donkey Kong 64, Mario Golf 64, and Super Smash Brothers. The whole Poke`mon craze increased in popularity with the TV series, games, and merchandise. Nintendo expanded the poke`mon library of games by creating such titles as Poke`mon Snap for the Nintendo 64 and Poke`mon Pinball for Game Boy Color. In0 2000, Nintendo has released some of the best game titles for the N64 such as The Legion of Zelda: Majora?s Mask, Mario Tennis, Perfect Dark, and The Worlds Not Enough. The Poke`mon Gold and silver versions for the Game Boy Color debuted this fall with 100 new poke`mon to catch and train. The annual Space World game exhibition was held in Japan when Nintendo unveiled the Project Dolphin as GAMECUBE. |
| In 1992 the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past arrived exciting anxious gamers. Nintendo also introduced the Super scope and the Super NES mouse for Mario Paint. In 1993 Nintendo announced the invention of the Super FX chip which was breakthrough technology for video game machines. Star Fox for the Super Nintendo was the first video game to use this chip and came out in April. In 1994 Nintendo released a new accessory called the Super Game Boy. This device allowed you to play Game Boy games on your Super NES. This became popular not only because of the bigger screen but because you could play them in colour. During the holiday season Nintendo released Donkey Kong Country with advanced graphics technology. This amazed many players with the excellent graphics and game play which became a big seller. In 1995 a new Donkey Kong game was released for the Game Boy called Donkey Kong Country. It was also created using the advanced graphics technology. During the year a new 32-bit system was introduced named Virtual Boy. Popular demand games from fans such as Yoshi's Island: Super Mario World 2, Killer Instinct, and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest were released for the Super NES. In 1996 the Nintendo 64 system was launched in Japan on June 23 and on September 29 in North America. Nintendo's first 64-bit system with realistic3-D rendered graphics attracted thousands off gamers came to try it out for the first time at game exhibitions. In Japan it sold more than 500,000 systems in the first day! Wow! In North America it sold more than 350,000 systems in the first 3 days! Super Mario 64 was one of the first games that came out for the N64 and was said to be "The greatest Video game of all time!" While the N64 was getting all the big glory, the Super NES game titles Donkey Kong 3, Donkey Kong country 3:Dixie Kong's Double Trouble were released. Nintendo then introduced the a smaller model of the hand held Game Boy that was 30-percent smaller than the original. It was called Game Boy Pocket . |
| During the early 80's a man named Mr.Miyamoto was hired to be a part of Nintendo. He was the one who created all those Zelda and Mario bros adventures out there. Mr. Miyamoto created the classic coin-operated arcade video game called "Donkey Kong". This quickly became the most popular selling individual game in their business. In 1983 Nintendo created their very first Video game system called the "Famicom" in Japan. It was later released in North America in 1985 and was called the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The NES came with Duck Hunt, the Super Mario Brothers, an electronic gun alled the "Zapper" to play Duck Hunt, and a electric operating robot. The NES became very popular in North America that by the late 80's the NES was considered the number one selling video game system! During the NES "life span" many popular game titles were released like Super Mario Bros 3, Contra, Street Fighter, Metroid, Blades of Steel, Castlevania, Mega man and many more. In 1989 the Nintendo's first hand held video game system called Game Boy was released. This was truly something that stood out in the gaming industry. Nintendo Power became a new and popular video game magazine for paid-subscribers. In 1991 the Super Nintendo (Super NES) was released in North America. This new and improved 16-bit gaming council amazed many by its rich and colourful graphics. The Super NES first came out with Super Mario World and became very popular. Final Fight, F-Zero, Simcity and Super R-Type were just some of game titles released back then. |

| In 1997 the Nintendo 64 was gaining more popularity and became one of the most wanted gifts for the holiday season. The library of games started to increased with such great games as Golden Eye 007, Diddy Kong Racing and 1080 Snowboarding. A new accessory was introduced called the Rumble Pak that snaps onto your controller and rumbles when you come in contact with certain elements in the game. Star Fox 64 was the first N64 game to make use of this assessory. |

| Back in the late 19th century Nintendo was just beginning in Japan. In those days their main market was Japanese playing cards. Those cards became popular among Japan . This made Nintendo successful. Nintendo continued to design playing cards until about the late 1960's to the early 1970's. Electronic games were first introduced by Nintendo in Japan so their focus was more on this new technology.Electronic gaming created a new kind of entertainment that opened many doors for all the opportunities that can change the future.
