| When I finally played the latest addition to Flatout I was amazed at its all round improvements. Detailed graphics and sound to the level of destruction during car colisions. Flatout 2 deliveres a simular experience known well in the Burnout franchise but with its own style. The gameplay this round has been tweaked more towards an arcade experience speeding up gameplay attracting a wider range of gamers both casual or hardcore. There you will find hours of fun getting into reackless car crashes and watching the level of destructable damage to both cars and enviroments. A good impact to your opponent will send him plowing right into others creating a chain car crashes putting you ahead of the pack. Flatout 2 offers different game modes such as career, single race, single event, stunt mode, multi-player. Career mode starts you off working your way to the to of the ranks by competing in a series of race events earning cash towords new cars and upgrades. A great single player experience will enough to keep you playing for awhile. In multi-player you can either split screen with a friend or go online in Xbox live. Though these days you will be hard pressed to accually find someone playing online. In stunt mode there is plenty of interesting mini-games to play such as bowling, darts, ski jump, curling, stone skipping, ring of fire and many more. For example in bowling, after driving down a ramp you launch the driver out of the car into the pins. Aside from racing and mini games, Flatout 2 also offers a destrustion derby mode pitting you up against seven other opponents in an all out demolishion warfare. Last one standing standing without becoming scrap metal wins. While playing I notice how the audio has been improved expessually it's sound tracks. Flatout 2 used Electronic Arts style music player giving gamers a selection of licenced music such as Nickelback, Pappa Rotch, Wolf Mother, Audioslave, Megadeth and many more. The in game sound effects are nicly done from reving engines to the car explosions. Summery: I recommend Flatout 2 for those of you racing fans both casual and hardcore as it offers a well balance of realism car phyics combined with arcade racing action for a fun and challenging experience. |
