American Kennel Club Field Trials

Field Champion (FC): A dog earns this tile in much the same way as it would win a conformation title from the AKC. Different placing earn the dog different point values. A total of 10 points is required for the much-coveted title. A Dual Champion (DC) is one that has an FC and a conformation championship (Ch).

National Field Champion (NFC): Each year a No. 1 field champion is chosen and awarded this title after beating a field of field champions at the National Open. To qualify, a dog must attain one first place in the Open All-Age stakes at a field trial and at least two third places in the same stakes. That's a total of seven points is needed.

AKC Hunt Tests

Junior Hunter (JH): Four passes are required to earn this entry-level title.

Senior Hunter (SH): Four passes plus a JH title earn a dog a Senior Hunter, or five passes at the senior level (if it has no JH title).

Master Hunter (MH): Five passes at the master level and a SH title or six passes at the master level with no prior titles will earn this title.
