Here are pictures from when I lived in
Dakar,Senegal and Guatemala City, Guatemala.
 |
This is my host sister, Fatou,
and my host brothers enjoying dinner, ceeb y geen (Wolof for
fish and rice), a popular and yummy Senegalese dish. |
 |
One of my favorite weekends in
Senegal was spent with an NGO dedicated to Women's
Literacy. At the end of the weekend, the whole village
gathered to listen and dance to live djembe music. |
 |
Prior to graduate school, I
worked at Hogar Rafael Ayau, an orphanage in Guatemala City.
For Christmas we organized a play about Jesus' birth and
the Three Wise Men. Guess which role these little ones
played? |

|
During Christmas, after the
play, the community brought in a surprise "Santa
Claus" bearing presents and sweets for every single
child. Here is Eduardo guarding his new toy from
me.

overseas, please feel free to contact me) |
