This week, we will read the "Wife of Bath's Tale". In this tale, a knight rapes a young maiden and, in punishment for breaking the rules of chivarly, is given one year to find out what women most desire - or  else die. Be prepared for a test on both this tale and the "Pardoner's Tale" on Thursday.

9/22: CANTERBURY TALES PROLOGUE TEST

9/23: Read "The Life and Times of Chaucer" on pp139 - 140.Create a vocabulary chart for the words to know listed on p141.

9/24: Read "The Pardoner's Tale", taking notes on predictions as explained under "active reading" heading on p141. On the same paper as your chart, answer #2-6 in complete sentences on p152

9/25: HALF DAY. Watch a video adaption of "The Pardoner's Tale" and complete the moral tale activity  with a partner.

9/26: VOCABULARY TEST. Create a vocabulary chart for the "Words to Know" for "Wife of Bath's Tale". Begin reading tale

9/29: Finish reading "Wife of Bath's Tale".  Period 2 - Answer #2-6 on p167

10/1: Period 1 - If absent Monday, read "Wife of Bath's Tale" on pp156 - 167. Answer #2-6 on p167
Periods 1 & 2 - Complete the "Literary Analysis" activity on p 167. Come up with 10 True/False questions about both the "Wife of Bath's Tale" and the "Pardoner's Tale".

10/2: Review "Wife of Bath's Tale".  TEST ON BOTH TALES

10/3: VOCABULARY TEST.Choose either writing option #1 ("Ye Olde News") on p153 or writng option #2 ("Comparing Knights" )on p169. Write a rough draft  of an essay for whichever you choose. Be sure to include planning. Then, create a vocab. chart for the words to know on p209.
