How to Use Our Services

We are pleased to offer our patrons a CD-ROM on how to access common and uncommon searches. Please proceed to the CD-ROM workstation and type the word START to access the first screen. The first screen demonstrates how the system displays and sorts uniform titles in lists of multiple or brief entries. The next screen shows the fields that display MARC and non-MARC records. The system is equipped to search content notes by keyword searching. Authority control and cross-references search techniques are demonstrated. The next screen demonstrates how to locate a specific volume in a journal or yearly serial. Searches can also be conducted by a music publisher's number for a recording or score. When you arrive at the green screen, it will demonstrate how to search for a specific item by a composer's name and opus number. The system also allows retrieval by composer/musician, performance or composition or both.

Should you need assistance, please do not hesitate to ask our friendly staff.
