Introduction
While on vacation this summer, I stumbled upon a neat looking rock.
I know that rocks
are made from minerals, but I don't know what type of rock it is. It
is your job
to learn about different types of rocks so you can identify the "mystery
rock" for me.Back to top
Task
In groups of 2-3, you will work together with the web resources to
learn about
the Rock Cycle and the different kinds of rocks. You will complete
a worksheet with questions about
rocks along with a diagram of the rock cycle on the back. You will
also create a large poster
with many pictures to show the rest of the class what you learned about
rocks.Back to top

to get the worksheet. (print one for each of you)

Conclusion
Nice Job! You guys sure have learned a lot about rocks and
minerals in this unit. If you haven't already done so, this would be
a
great time to start a rock collection at home. Whether you are on vacation
or just strolling around the neighborhood, look for rocks to add to
your collection.
