9:00 am to 3:00 pm Drive to Nashville

Evening see music show

Day Two:

Drive to Chattanooga from 9:00 to 12:00

1:00 visit Aquarium

3:30 visit Rock City

Day Three

Drive to Anniston, then Birmingham, AL

Morning: Visit tourist cave near Fort Payne

Noon: Visit Noccalula Falls park north of Gadsen

Afternoon: Visit Anniston Museum of Natural History in Anniston

Evening: Get to Birmingham for the night

Day Four

Drive to Memphis, TN

Morning: Visit Vulcan statue in Birmingham

Afternoon: Visit Tupelo Nat. Battlefield

Evening: arrive in Memphis

Day Five

Drive to Texarkana

Morning: on Mud Island in Memphis

Afternoon and evening: Drive five hours to Texarkana

Day Six:

Morning: Drive to Dallas

Afternoon: See stuff in Dallas

Day Seven

Drive 5 hours to San Antonio

Afternoon: See sites in San Antonio

Evening: Drive west to Castroville

Day Eight

See historic stuff in Castroville or San Antonio in morning

Afternoon and evening drive as far west as possible on I-10 (at least to Van Horn, TX)

Day Nine

Morning: Drive four or five hours to White Sands National Monument

Afternoon: See White Sands

Evening: Night in Las Cruces

Day Ten:

Drive through Silver City, NM and Safford, AZ on way to Tucson to enjoy mountain drive. Get out and walk at parks or scenic areas along the way. In Tucson visit the Arizona-Sonoma Desert museum.

Day Eleven:

It’s a five hour drive from Tucson to the Grand Canyon. Enjoy afternoon and sunset at Grand Canyon. Spend night in Grand Canyon or drive to Gray Mountain or Flagstaff for the night.

Day Twelve:

Drive from Grand Canyon/Flagstaff east on I-40, stopping at Petrified Forest/Painted Desert and La ventana Natural Arch on way to Albuquerque.

Day Thirteen: A Long Day’s Drive. Take State Road 14 to Santa Fe in the early morning and spend the morning in Santa Fe looking around the town. All afternoon and late at night keep driving as far east as you can go. Try to get to Shamrock, TX or even Clinton or Weatherford, OK where you can stay in a cheap hotel for the night.

Day Fourteen: A long day driving back to St. Louis.
