Indiana Trains

 

This is a short trip to some railroads around Indiana and Illinois. It was planned from St. Louis, but could be done from Indianapolis, Chicago, or any city in Illinois or Indiana

Day 1. (A Thursday sometime between May and August). Go to Flora, Illinois to ride the Little Toot railroad. www.littletootrailroad.com Have lunch in Flora. On to Indianapolis for the night.

Day 2. To Connersville, Indiana. At 10:00 a.m. ride the train from Connersville

Day 3 (Saturday). Noblesville Train museum. Ride the train at 1:30 p.m.

Day 4 (Sunday). French Lick, West Baden & Southern Railway. Ride the railroad at 1 or 4 in the evening. Camp in the area for the night.

Day 5 (Monday). Ride the Corydon Scenic Railroad in Corydon, Indiana. After that, take I-64 back to St. Louis for the night.

 

Hours of operation

Flora, Illinois. Little Toot Railroad. May through October, Wed-Fri 11 to 9, Sat 10-9, Sun 1-7.

Connersville, Indiana. Wednesdays through Sundays and holidays: 10:00 a.m.

Corydon. Corydon Scenic Railroad. May through October.

 

French Lick, West Baden & Southern Railway. April through October: Weekends at 10, 1, and 4.

Noblesville. Weekends 10 to 5, train rides at 1:30
