Day 1.
Leave Urbana. Drive to Chicago (3 hours). See a museum in Chicago. Dinner in Chicago. Drive to Janesville (2.5 hours) and stay in a motel there.
Day 2. Drive to Madison (45 min) and see museum there. Drive to Wisconsin Dells (1.5 hours) and see something there. Drive to Minneapolis (4 hours) and stay at motel there.
Day 3. See something in Minneapolis. Drive to Fargo (4.5 hours). Dinner in Fargo. Drive to Valley City or Jamestown (1 hour) to spend night in motel there.
Day 4. Drive to Minot (4 hours). See something in Minot. Drive to Regina, Saskatchewan (2.5 hours). Dinner and spend the night there.
Day 5. Morning to see something in Regina. Drive to Saskatoon (3 hours) in afternoon. See something and have dinner in Saskatoon. Drive to North Battleford (1 hour) to spend the night there.
Day 6. Drive from North Battleford to Lloydminster (1.5 hours) to have lunch there. Continue on to Edmonton (about 3 hours) to see something and have dinner and spend the night there.
Day 7. Edmonton, Alberta to Dawson Creek, BC.(6.5 hours driving)
Day 8. Dawson Creek, BC to Muncho Lake, BC. (about 9 hours driving)
Day 9. Munch Lake to Whitehorse, Yukon. (about 9 hours driving)
Day 10. Whitehorse.
Day 11. Whitehorse to Skagway. (2.5 hours)

This is the longest day of driving in the trip. To shorten the driving one could camp in Muncho Lake Provincial Park or Stone Mountain Provincial Park, thus moving an hour or two of driving to tomorrow's drive to Grande Prairie.
