World Cup Japan
A frugal Penalty
Matt, matt you knocked one in
the ravenous lions could not win.
T'was a glorious day in Niigata's sun
they'd enough of Duff, oh what a run.

Many a blade of grass followed
Roy's pride still not swallowed.
Fighting till the end
the Celtic tiger made many a friend.

Our suns set while the stars still shine
Beckham, Klose, Nakata and R9.
We go home with immense pride
a force from which no man can hide.

Mr. David Beckham
James with his minature Martin Keown on a stick. Before each game, James would go to the Yasaka shrine and bless it! Well, he's an England supporter after all - they need all the help they can get! Sorry this pic is so small - it was taken on a mobile phone camera!
An insane Japanese guy who was totally in love with Beckham. He kept shouting out "Beckhamu handsumu!!"
This local girl sure had a thing for the Irish!  Also can you read the banner behind her? It's a jab at Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy.
Kyoto's Irish contingent that made the trek all the way to Niigata
James and I at Nagai stadium in Osaka for the England Vs Nigeria game. It was a bloody awful game (0-0) but the Sheffield Wedensday brass band kept us all entertained!
Myself in Niigata's wing stadium. The game between Ireland and Cameroon was a 1-1 draw. Not a bad result for the Irish considering we were outplayed for most of the first half.
Niigata stadium. Note all the empty seats! And no it wasn't cos people didn't want to go! Due to FIFA incompetence, many people didn't get their tickets in time!
Ireland Vs Cameroon: 1-1
England Vs Nigeria: 0-0
An English supporter and some Japanese guys fighting over Rio Ferdinand's shirt! When we left the stadium they were still tugging away at it!
