Sleepy Hollow

A revision of the classic story by Washington Irving.  Ichabod Crane is not a schoolteacher in this version but a renegade police officer from New York City, though he is still stuck with the unfortunate name of Ichabod.  In any case, Johnny Depp, who looks in his makeup like he was born in a horror movie, does a great job playing him.  This movie is indeed scary and gory, but not really more than you would expect, and if you can handle any other average horror movie you can handle this just fine.  I had high expectations for this movie, and all of them were met.  There are plenty of special effects as well as twists to the plot-just try guessing who's really behind the murders!  This movie is still in theaters as I write this, so if it still is as you read this, go see it. It's well worth the ticket price.
