Drop Dead Gorgeous

This is a little-known movie about a beauty paegent in a small Minnesota town.  'Course, it wasn't really filmed here-if that's the real Mall of America, then I'm from Mars.  And I heard that, smartass.  Anyway, it's really funny, and there aren't really any Minnesotan inside jokes so anyone can enjoy it.  And we do not talk like that.  Well...not really.  Not most of us, at least.  And not so badly, not that I can tell.  Although there is no Mount Rose in Minnesota, there is a suburb of Minneapolis named Rosemount.  And there are plenty of teenage beauty paegents here.  I've gotten invitations to be in some.  Scary, huh?  Kirstie Alley is hilarious, and Denise Richards has the perfect role for her acting.  And I think I've been in the high school cafeteria from that one scene...a little too realistic for comfort.  This is a great comedy for anyone even if you've never been to the midwest and don't know anyone from here.  You can watch it to see what you're missing-or maybe what you don't miss.  If you're from Minnesota, don't miss it.
