DESCRIPTION The 123rd Quartermaster Battalion (Truck) was constituted and authorized to be made active at the New Orleans Port of Embarkation, Louisiana, pursuant to letter from the War Department, AG 320.2 (3-7-42), dated 11 April, 1942. The Battalion was made active 1 June, 1942. The 123rd Quartermaster Battalion (Truck) has no other history and is not entitled to battle honors. The buff is for the Quartermaster Corps, the blue and white indicating the performance of duties by Night and Day. The trucking functions of the organization are represented by the truck wheels. The state of activation, Louisiana, is indicated by the magnolia bloom, Louisiana being known as "Magnolia State". |
