Wow, everyone is leaving...it's so sad. It's only the beginning of August. And I'm sooo not good at saying goodbye. David left for Berkeley last Tuesday and Wynn left early this morning. It just feels so weird to think that I won't be seeing them till Christmas. Before, I'd see them every few weeks at UVA and now they're gonna be 3000 miles away. It really hits you. Pretty soon, Aye'd be going back to UVA and then I have to say goodbye to my family and friends. Some of my friends are already leaving this week...*sniff sniff*
I finally got to see Sylvie last Wednesday when she came to have lunch with Loren, Mai E., and I during our lunch break. It was definitely nice to just hang out and talk. We didn't want to go back to work afterwards. She's leaving this Wednesday, I think. Or is it Thursday? I keep forgetting!! She seems really excited about University of New Mexico. Her schedule seems appealing too. She's taking a dance class! I wish I could too. Well, I think I'm gonna be changing my classes so I don't know yet. I got to talk to Meriem too after such a long break!! She was in Canada and in New Hampshire. She got back a day early so I was quite surprised. We talked for such a long time and we both feel the same way about college and stuff. It was definitely awesome to share some feelings.
The whole friend unit came together on Saturday. It was great! Ali had a get-together and there were about 17 of us! I got there around 3pm to help out. People didn't show up till around after 4. We grilled some burgers and stuff and had an awesome time. (Or at least, Ali's mom grilled them and we ate! *wink* :P) We did some amazing artwork too. She bought all these 8x10 canvases and all different colors of paint. We painted our names and exchanged them with other people until we had everyone signed each canvas. So for mine, my name is in the middle and everyone else's are all over the canvas. They're all wonderful and we can put them up in our dorm room. It was such a great idea. I took pix of all of the canvases too so maybe I'll put them up later. Some of them were cut off a bit. I thought I got the whole canvas but I was just looking at the pix yesterday and some of them are losing the edges and stuff. *pout* But all is well. I really like my canvas! So after our creative outlet, we went up to the deck and roasted some marshmallows and ate them with chocolate. It was so much fun to see some people and talk and of course, we all HAD to take lots of pix. Everyone was having a great time. And then it was goodbye time and that was a bit sad. But I'll be seeing most of my friends again before leaving. And all the UVA people will be here with me till the end. We're the cool people. We don't have to leave till the 28th. Hehe. But yeah, we exchanged some contact info and all that good stuff. After everyone left, it was just Ali, Carolina and I goofing off. They wanted to paint their canvases a bit more so I watched them and we talked. It was definitely hilarious though. One time, I was laughing so much, I was actually crying and I thought I was gonna die! I couldn't breathe and they had to calm me down. LOL. I'm definitely gonna miss that. We tried not to talk about college stuff at all cost cuz that's the main thing that's on our minds lately. How am I gonna live without them?? We ended up talking till around 1am and definitely lost track of time.
Yesterday was really nice too. Wynn, Aye and I went shopping at Tyson's for about "half hour." We ended up there for about 3 hours. But it was fun. We went to all the stores and bought some clothes. The three of us haven't done that in a long time. We were such kids too. We were trying out things at Brookstone and DryIce. It was quite funny. We passed by Limited Too and we decided to take a picture together. So we did that and got some sticker-pix. Afterwards, we went into Vienna and bought some flowers before heading to a family friend's house. Wynn wanted to see them before she leaves and another "half hour" visit turned to about 2 hours. We didn't get back home till around 8ish. But it was a fun day. We wanted to stay up the whole night cuz Wynn's flight is at 6:45 and she was leaving around 4:30. But she got too tired. We all talked till around midnight and it was definitely some quality family time. I'm already missing her now. I got up this morning and I saw her room all empty and it just made me sad. Ugh...life...definitely don't wanna grow up. To think I'd be on my own and working in another 4 years. Sigh...definitely scary.
Anyway, I got to go. I'll write later. I'm gonna go do something fun now. Tootles. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that I talked to my roommate. She seems pretty nice. She's from Tennessee and she's into theater and music. I hope we can be friends. That's it for now. Bye!
