Hey,

It's been about 2 weeks since I wrote in here. It's just been a bit hectic the first week and the second week, I didn't even know where to start. A lot of things have happened. I have been quite busy these couple of weeks with work, family and friends. And for some reason, I just feel sad right now. Maybe it's the weather. Where's the sun when I'm not stuck in an air-conditioned room all day?? Anyway...
As you know I went up to NY the next day after I got back from orientation. Sadly, the trip was unfortunate. My parents and I drove up there and met up with Lynn, Godfrey and Aye. They came down from Boston and spent a night in Conneticut playing in the casinoes. So they were quite tired. We were all hungry so we parked our car and went to eat lunch and went around the city for a while. A few hours passed before we went back. For some reason, all of us had a bad feeling. We just thought it was nothing. We were getting lost in the city and the metro was giving us so much trouble. We were definitely not happy about it. And when we got back, all our things were stolen from the car!! Aye was coming home from Boston so a lot of her personal things were stolen! We put everything in the trunk to avoid something like that but whoever it was, he/she opened up the trunk and got everything. They left one big luggage though. But it was absolutely horrible!! We felt so violated! And Aye's journal and purse were taken too. She put them in her backpack and forgot to get her purse when we went down to eat. All her IDs and credit cards, everything was gone!!!! Along with that, 2 of our cameras are gone too. We brought a professional camera because we wanted to finish up the film since some of my graduation pix were in it. It was all the pix with my family too. So I'm really upset about that. And then Lynn & Godfrey's digi-cam was in Aye's backpack. And silly me...I was really tired the night before. Ali stopped by and we were talking for a while. When she left, I just put some extra things in the bag that I just came back from orientation with. I figured I'd just get up, wash up a bit and go in my pjs. I was gonna sleep some more in the car. And I can change later as we get near to NY. So that whole bag was taken. I never bring extra clothes or other personal items on a day trip before. I just had to be lazy that morning! GRRRR!!! And of course, I forgot that I still had my Social Security card in my wallet. I needed it at orientation. When we got out, I just put the cash and my credit cards and my license into my purse and got down. My wallet was in that bag so my SS card was stolen. And Aye was gonna get a job in Boston this summer so she had all her important stuff with her. She was coming back home cuz out of the blue our dad was leaving to Thailand for 3 months in a week for work. She wanted to spend some time with him before he left. So right now, I'm hating NY. We parked the car where there were plenty of people and constant traffic in broad daylight and still this happened. It was partly our fault. We shouldn't have left all the important and valuable things in the car. We totally forgot that we were in NEW YORK!! Sigh... Whenever I talk about it or think about it, the horrible feeling keeps coming back. And to think I'm gonna be living in a city in the fall.
I got my room assignment a few days ago. I'm in a double but I'm not really on the main campus. I'm on the Mount Vernon campus which is about 10 minutes away by shuttle to the Foggy Bottom campus so I'm bummed out about that. But on the plus side, I'm surrounded by trees and greenery and away from traffic and noise pollution. Just what I wanted! I'm near to the sports fields though so hopefully I won't be annoyed by loud noise when they have football games or soccer games! I'm a bit nervous/scare about the whole college experience. I'm gonna be sharing a bathroom with another room so I guess 4 girls. It's a co-ed building so that should be interesting. Haha! And we get a microwave and a fridge in each room and there are 39 freshman in that building. But I don't know yet. Lynn doesn't want me to live there. She wants me to ask the school to find me another place on the main campus. She thinks it's kinda dangerous for me to live there since I have classes till about 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and especially in the winter, it'd be dark outside. So I don't know yet. I'm just tired of all the complications...
Apart from all that craziness, I'm just working 10-6 everyday. The work is boring but it's good pay so I'm just hanging on. I'm just chilling with my family and friends a lot. My dad left for Thailand last Sunday and he's gonna be there for 3 months! He'll only be back in the middle of October. So I miss him a lot. He calls everyday so that's nice but it's still different. Someone else was supposed to go but he/she didn't get her travel documents in time and since my dad had them from when he went to Norway a few months back, his boss asked him to go. It's quite unfair really. My mom is missing him so much too. Wynn is moving to CA in a few weeks too with her new fianc so I'm trying to spend some quality time with her. Yeah, they're engaged now. They got engaged that Friday before our dad left. It's amazing that two of my sisters are already engaged and Lynn is getting married next summer. And I'm only 18!! It's crazy! And seems like everyone is leaving... I can't believe half of our summer is already over. Pretty soon, all my friends will be everywhere too. Anyway, sorry this has been a very sad entry. These are just some things on my mind lately.
Last weekend was fun though. On Saturday, we went to the Burmese monastery in Silver Springs and made some offering. We did some prayers with the monk so that was quite nice. It's been a while and all the bad luck needed to be cleansed. After that, we went to Great Falls park and chilled there for a few hours. Taking some pix and just enjoying the view. Some quality family time. Our dad left the next morning so we were quite sad. So we went to Great Falls again that afternoon with David. This time we went down the trail where we went last summer. Lots of rock and at that place, you can actually go down to where the water is. So we climbed rocks till we got to where we wanted to be - right in the water. There was this big rock in the water and we were sitting on it. It was so peaceful. It was awesome and of course we took like 100 pix that day. Haha...we're quite crazy! And on Tuesday, Carolina, Ali and I met up and watched "Matchstick Men" and baked some cookies. It was funny cuz we thought it'd be cool to bake a big cookie so we did. It was the size of a plate and I put holes and stuff to make a face and when it was baking in the oven, it looked kinda scary! LOL. But after the coloring and all that, it looked good. And the cookies were definitely yummy. Thursday night was Ali and my night. We went out to eat at Chili's and talked. And of course, we HAD to get Molten Chocolate Cake. Mmm...YUMMY!! :D Afterwards, we were soooo full and tired at the same time. It was funny. Yesterday, I went to watch "Bourne Supremacy" with Loren. It was good. I felt so bad for him just because everyone was after him and he doesn't remember anything about his past. And he's always on the run and no time to rest or be happy. And I've been playing lots of Chinese Checkers at home too. I'm getting quite good. Haha. I've been watching tons of movies as well. My summer's been busy. Anyway, I got to go. I'm talking to this girl from CI on AIM. She's on the Mount Vernon campus too. This is cool. Peace out.
