Haven't been here for a while. I've been soooo lazy these past few weeks and I think it's all my sisters' fault. They were back for a week and totally spoiled me! I was so relaxed, just chilling with them. I even stayed home one day from school!!!! Haha...I KNOW! I haven't missed a day of school since halfway of 10th grade! But it was marvelous...the feeling was incredible. I got to sleep in. ^_^ I figured it's my senior year and I should take some breaks and stop being so studious. Well, right now, I'm such a procrastinator. Senioritis is definitely starting to kick in! The laziness came last year too after my spring break at UVA. I spent the whole week with Aye and Wynn and when I came back, I just felt like I was on vacation. I didn't feel like doing any work and just wanted to have fun. I'm LOVING naps too!! Haha...and to think I used to hate naps. A 2-hr nap in the afternoon is just heaven! I LOVE it! LOL. :P So anyway, I'll stop rambling on about how I love naps. Haha!
So, let me go way back for a sec. Lynn got back from Boston on the 4th and Aye and Wynn came back on the 5th. That night, we went out to dinner to celebrate their birthdays and David had a surprise for Wynn and it was so sweet! Afterwards, us, sisters, were gonna go clubbing but we didn't want to just leave our parents behind and David wanted to be with Wynn as well. So we decided to go cosmic bowling. We got there and we were right on time. It started as we were done putting on our shoes. The music came on and Aye and I were having more fun with the songs than the bowling. But she was really good. I was a disaster for the first game!! Haha...yeah...I'm admitting to it! I was BAD! But the second game wasn't too bad. I almost got a strike! *gleam* We chose the 2 lanes at the very far end so we were kinda by ourselves and of course, we were making tons of noise. And then the dj played "Cha Cha Slide" and I HAD to dance to it!! I was following all the steps that the song was saying and everyone turned to look! Haha. I think that's my favorite dance song. Aye tried to follow me a bit. I was having too much fun with the dance and even when it was my turn, I just kept on dancing! LOL! :P After that song though, the other songs weren't that good. We requested some good dance songs but the dj never played them. But it was still fun. Wynn's birthday transformed into Daddy's birthday so we sang "Happy Birthday" and everyone was smiling and looking at us. So we went back home and David left. We talked with our parents till 3am and by that time, our parents were tired and they went to bed. The 4 of us went to Lynn's bed and I don't know whose idea it was but we decided to sleep on the same bed. It was probably an accumulation of all our crazy ideas. I dunno...but the thing is her bed is a full-size bed!! And the more crazy thing was that we fitted on the bed perfectly! LOL. We ended up talking till 5am making all kinds of silly jokes and laughing like crazy and we did sleep like that. We didn't wake up till 11 and it was such a cute picture. We were like 4 little kittens all snuggling close. Whenever we all meet, we're like kids!
So anyway...Ko Wai flew in that night and we talked and played UNO. David was there too. When the game ended, Lynn and Ko Wai went to sleep. And then David started a pillow fight against Aye and I and of course, we beat him. Wynn was laughing at him because he was getting a beat-down and she didn't help him either! Haha. That was fun! The next day was a relaxing day as well. Aye and I played some frisbee while we talked. We were kinda getting better but then we started talking silly and we were just laughing so hard that we kept missing it! Wynn came by to come get us. She said David and Ko Wai were playing badmington so we joined them. And I gotta say Ko Wai is good!! It was nice cuz he was on my team! But there was a lot of bashing going on between all of us. It was so funny. :D That night, I had to study for all the tests that I had the next day while they all prepared for the offering the next morning. We had 4 Buddhist monks at our house and we offered them lunch and then afterwards, it was an offering to all the regular people. These kinds of events are traditional Burmese things. They do get kinda hectic but I missed all of that cuz I was at school taking a Bio test, History quiz & a pop quiz and then the French IB oral! That was bad!!! But I went in to school at 9 and left around 1pm so I was just there for all the tests! When I got back home, everyone has already left and we only had a few more guests. But then I got to spend some time with Wynn and David before they went back to C-ville. And then Ko Wai flew back to Boston. Lynn went back to Boston on Wednesday morning, the 10th. So the house was quiet again. I don't like it. I just like the house all noisy with our voices. We are really loud people!! Haha! And it gets lonely when I'm all alone at home. *sniff sniff* But Aye was still with me. She didn't go back till that Sunday so that was nice.
And of course, I HAVE to talk about Bands & BBQ. It was the day before Aye went back, the 13th. We (FAAD/SADD) had been planning about it for about a month and everything was going well. It would start at 7pm and I got there half hour before that. But then I've never been to Club Phoenix which is part of the Vienna Community Center. So I got there and I didn't see anyone from school. There was a Fathers-Daughters dance that just ended and there were all these people. I asked around and they kept asking me to find this blue canopy around the corner. So I tried to find it and it was at the very back. It was absolutely quiet and there was no one there. So I climbed the stairs and tried the 2 doors. The bottom one was locked but the top one was open. So I went in and I was standing on a stage behind the curtains. Still no sound. So I went around and looked into the room. It was well-lit and there were tables and chairs. So I thought that was the room we were supposed to be in and I totally FREAKED!!! It was 6:40 and there was NO ONE!!! So I left the room and came back outside. I didn't know what to do. The bands were supposed to get there at 5:30 for sound-check. I went back to my car and called some people but their cells were off or they didn't pick up so I left some messages. And then I saw this guy from our club and I got out and talked to him for a bit. 2 girls were there too but they haven't bought tix yet and they were wondering if they could go in. So I was running around trying to figure out what was going on. The VCC director was on a trip so she wasn't there. And luckily, Meriem showed up!! She wasn't gonna come but she did. I was soo happy! And while I was talking to these people from VCC, Dylan, Jonathan and Emily showed up. They saw how I was freaking out and they didn't know what to do. And then FINALLY, someone told us it was in the basement. We tried to look for it and when we finally found it, I was sooo relieved because everything was already set up and all the bands were there. You cannot imagine how happy I was! Sigh...just typing this up is even getting me hyped up!! LOL.
But everything went off without a hitch. It was soo much FUN! Meriem and I served the food for the first hour and then afterwards, we were just enjoying ourselves. Vicious Cycle played and they were the main group everybody wanted to hear. It was pretty crowded and some tall guys were even blocking us! GRR! And then VC covered Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" and it was sooo good! Matt did that thing with this little thing in his mouth and I loved it! Haha...I'm so clear with my descriptions. I don't know how to describe it but that little thing that distorts your voice and make it all cool!??! LOL. But that was tight! Meriem and I were just singing along...well, more like shouting along! :P But that was fun. After VC, a lot of people left and the pool tables were finally free. I had been eyeing them the whole time but there were a lot of people playing. So now I got the chance. I dragged her with me. Sky and Matt were just setting up, about to play. I joined them. Meriem didn't want to play so it was just the 3 of us. And incredibly, I WON!!! Haha. That was so nice! I beat Sky, the champion and that was so cool! It wasn't a regular game. We played something where each person chooses a group of numbers, 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 and then the other two people try to put in the balls with those numbers. The person who's ball is left on the table at the end wins. So I won! Haha. For the 2nd game, it was Meriem and I against Mark B. and Greg Nash. And again, I creamed them! Haha. And Meriem was a beginner! 3rd game was us against Matt and Greg and we lost that one. But then the 4th game, Meriem left me so I was with Mark vs. Matt and Greg. And I guess I was just lucky cuz we won by a technicality!! LOL. That was sooo TIGHT! Haha...the look on Matt's face was funny! He put the white ball in at the end when he was trying to get the black ball in. So we won. Haha. The last band was pretty good too. They sounded like Sum 41. People who had left an hour ago came back to hear them. But overall, it was successful and we all had fun. Too bad we can't do it again next year. :( I hope they keep this as a tradition and keep on doing this in the coming years. I'm getting so old!!! I won't be here next year anymore. Wow...it's still shocking to me and I've known about it for a long time now. ANYWAY...haha...
This week has been long!! It seemed like it was never gonna end. And the weather has been so bad the whole week. It's been raining everyday and it's been freezing and it's almost end of March. I want SPRING!!! But I had a nice afternoon today though. It was cold this morning and when school was out, it was about 50s so that was nice. Interact was fun. We only had 10 kids today and about 8 of us were there today so it was under control. We even had time to play and talk ourselves. Carla was on the swings and I pushed her for a bit while I pushed my kid as well. And then I got on one of the swings, trying to compete with my kid on how high we could go. Jonathan came by and teased me on neglecting my kid. So he pushed my kid, Sahel, while I enjoyed myself on the swings. It was soo nice. I love the swings!! Haha...what don't I love??! So it was Meriem, Carla with her kid, Polita, Jonathan with Sahel and then me. We were all joking around and having fun. On my left, there were Catherine and Vinoli and they looked so cute together!! Vinoli was sitting on Catherine and they were both on the swings. Just to make sure you understand, the kids are 4 or 5 yrs old! LOL. :P But that was fun. That's what I like about Friday afternoons - being a kid yourself on the playground while you befriend a little kid and make him/her happy. But that's when the ratio is pretty much 1:1. When it becomes 8:1, it gets very hectic!!! AHH! Haha. It has happened before and it wasn't pretty! I had like 5 kids climbing on top of me. That happened last week and now we have decided that we won't go if we only have a few people going.
So that's what has been happening these few weeks. Well, these were the important things. A lot of stuff happened but I'm not gonna talk about all of that stuff and this entry is already really, really long!! I hope to update this site soon. This weekend and next week are gonna be soo bad!! The quarter ends in 2 wks and all the teachers have assigned all kinds of projects and tests all at the same time. But I'm looking forward to Spring Break cuz it's gonna be tight! All 9 days are already filled up with fun stuff so I really can't wait. But then it also means that we're getting closer and closer to the IB exams and graduation.
