So as you know, I was with Aye and Wynn this weekend at UVA. But now, I'm back and I'm sad. *sniff sniff* I had a blast! Seriously, this weekend was just laughing till it hurts and you're crying. We were constantly laughing and if people didn't know us better, they'd have thought we were high or something. But we were high on sugar! :D Haha...
So my parents and I got there around 9:30 on Saturday morning. They were rehearsing for their performance. We talked a bit and then Aye and I left for the lawn between Rotunda and Cabell. We set up our table for Burmese Interact Club. Wynn and David had gone back to the dorms to get other stuff for the CultureFest. So it was just Aye and I and we talked for a while. We had a lot of people at our table asking numerous questions about Burma. I don't know if they really wanted to know or if they were just there for the yummy Burmese food! Haha...either way, we had the busiest table and later the others arrived and they helped out. Around 12, they had to go in and prepare. My parents and I found seats. I was in the 3rd row right in front of the stage so I had a clear view. The other groups performed for a while and then finally, it was their turn. Daniel came out first with the longyi and said the intro in Burmese. Good job, D! The audience was amazed that a total blond American guy was speaking in Burmese. The pronunciation was correct and it was really good. I'm so proud! Haha...it was all Aye and D's efforts. The dance started and everyone did a terrific job. There were 6 girls including Wynn and Aye. I thought they looked good. The outfits were fantastic. So good! Good job, Ms. President! Hehe. :P After their performance, I had to look for them backstage. They had told me that I was in the fashion show 2 hrs before we were due on stage. We got dressed and Daniel showed me the spin that I would be doing. Aye told me what was going to be happening and I quickly memorized everything. I was up on stage first. Daniel led me onto the stage. I slowly spinned once and he led me to my spot. I stood there smiling and posing. I was so nervous but everything went really well. The whole thing was great. Wynn and David looked so cute together when they did their cutesy thing. Aye came out last and she did so many spins with Daniel leading her. Awww...that was so awesome. She was perfect! And of course, afterwards we had to take a million pictures!! Haha...it was so much fun. :D
Our parents left after a while so we went back to IRC and ordered some Chinese food. It was already 4:30 and all of us haven't had any lunch yet. We were starving!! And all the food that we served at our table were gone. We chilled for a bit catching on a lot of stuff. We were dancing and they wanted me to show them my dance for the game. I danced and they both thought it was great. We decided to go out later that night to a dance. Around 8, Wynn went back to her room to be with David. Daniel came around then and since Aye had asked him to show us Swing dancing, we went to the Gym and he taught us the steps. But it closed around 9 so we came back to Aye's room and we danced some more. It was great! He is such a great dancer. He taught us 10 steps in an hour. Let me see if I can remember the names. Pretzel (the best!), Bow & Arrow, Turtle, West Coast, Slicky Boy, Trench Coat, Over Arm, Under Arm, Headlights, Cartwheel. Yay! I did it. There were a few more moves but I don't suppose he told us the names to those. But I got it on tape. He danced with Aye first, showing me the steps. I listened and made mental notes and then he danced with me. Based on the tape, I was pretty good. Haha! Of course, I made mistakes. LOL. Oh man, Ma Aye, you know what I'm talking about! *wink* But since he was leading me, it wasn't too hard to follow. I loved it! Daniel left after a bit. We were already pretty tired from the day's events. We all had a long week so we decided to stay in the room. We baked some cookies and just talked.
So yesterday, the three of us just hanged out. We watched a movie together and just goofed around. We were laughing uncontrollably. Some things are just plain funny when the right people are there and you know exactly what the other person is thinking. We would look at each other and we'd burst out laughing again. No drinking or eating allowed when we're in that state. I was literally crying from laughing so much. I have abs of steel now cuz I was exercising them so much! Haha. Aye and I swing dance again. And it was amazing that we remembered the steps. We did the pretzel really well and we kinda put our own moves into it and we were just having fun. It was great! Wynn showed me around Gwathmey a little as well when she went to talk to another RC. It was the building next to Mary Munford (main building of IRC where both Aye and Wynn live). Gwathmey is the guys domitory but since it was in the afternoon, it was totally quiet. Kinda creepy! Haha. After dinner, we went to walk around the Rotunda and we lay on the stone balcony looking at the stars. It was amazing how many stars we could see. We can't see anything when we're in the city and it was really nice to just take some time out to look at the stars. The air was cool and we lay there talking and me, singing once in a while. Hehe...how could I give that up? :>
So when we got back to IRC, "Free Desserts" was still going on. So we got some food and hot chocolate and stayed in the lounge for a bit. There were a lot of people and the food was yummy! I remembered some people from last year but they didn't stay and had to go.
So yeah, that was my weekend. I got back this morning around 10:30. I had so much fun being with Aye and Wynn. I miss them so much now. I love being at UVA. It seems like IRC is my second home now. Haha. If I don't get into UVA, it's gonna tear me apart. But then, it won't be the same cuz Wynn would have graduated by the time I get there. Ohh...*fingers crossed* I hope they love my application! LOL.
Ok, one more thing before I go. Dance Team will be performing at the Senior-Faculty Basketball Game on Wedneseday at 7 or 7:30pm. So come and support us. We're so excited about it and it's going to be great. We're gonna be H.O.T.!!! So please come and support us. Ok, that's it. I'm gonna go see what I can do tonight. Sigh...I love this long weekend!
