Another week has gone by...so quickly too! I can't believe it's Friday again already. Now, we're trying to figure out what to do tonight. I told one of the guys, Tae Ho, about my karaoke Saturday night and ever since then he's been wanting to go. So Anna is checking out the good spots right now. We might go to this one place on Wyoming and 18th Street. We'll see... It feels weird that it's Friday again. Not that it's a bad thing but we've been here for a month now!! It doesn't feel like it. In some ways, it feels like we've been here forever and in some other ways, it feels too soon. Don't know what I'm feeling. But I've decided that I'm not gonna go back home and sleep this weekend. I've done that for the past weekends since I've been here. But I'm gonna go back for a few hours tomorrow morning! :D Laundry and "grocery shopping" and some good home-cooked food. *wink*
So...what has happened this week?? I TURNED 19!!!!!!!!!! Hehe...if you didn't know already, it was my birthday on Wednesday. It started on Tuesday night. Carla was counting down the minutes to midnight. That was fun! Everybody sent IM mssgs, emails, cards, all sorts of things. I've got the best of friends and family. Even though it was such a tiring day being that it's a Wednesday, I was smiling the whole day. But I did miss all of you guys though. I was there in my classes and there were hundreds of people sitting around me who don't really know me. Such a different thing back in Marshall. I remember last year... But yeah. Such a different feeling. So anyway I was supposed to have my Bio lab till 8:50pm but I finished my lab way early. I got back to my dorm around 8. Another girl in our dorm has the same birthday as mine too. She was on the phone outside when I came back. I wished her happy birthday and came up. The whole hall was quiet and there was nobody around. I thought it was weird. And as I was opening my door, John said hi and he was just standing there, looking at me in this weird way. I was like ok...I thought something was up. My room was dark cuz Anna went dancing. I came in but there was nothing in the room so I thought I just imagined things. So I was talking to people on my cell and chatting on AIM and Anna came back a little later. We just talked for a bit and then she said Tae Ho and she has a dance that she has to show me cuz we were talking about her friends, I think. We ran outside and she said maybe he's in the lounge in the basement. I followed her but I started to have a feeling that something was up. But Emily from downstairs had said she would bake a cake for me so I thought that was it. Anna went in first and I followed her and I was very much surprised to see a lot of people and they all yelled "SURPRISE!" I was definitely surprised. They had the whole room decorated with balloons and streamers and there were 2 cakes for us. I was very touched. Everybody had signed this birthday poster for me too. It was really nice. After we ate the cake (hehe...dessert first!), we went down to the Pub for free Chinese food. Good stuff, right?? Yup! And my fortune cookie said along the lines of good things will come in due course of time. Hmm...my 19 days of celebration?? :P

So yup, my 19 days of celebration...yesterday was kinda tiring. I had one class in the morning and then work till 5pm. But Lynn came to see me after work. We walked down to M and 22nd Streets and went to have dinner at this Malaysian restaurant called Penang Restaurant. We love that place!! We got all this good food and uhh...I was soooo full! Good stuff. :D I miss Singapore when I eat that food. All the memories. Sigh... But anyway, after dinner, we walked around Dupont Circle for a bit. It was so weird. I live in DC but I never get to see that other part of the city life. We live in Foggy Bottom but it's all college students. Yesterday, for the first time since I've been here, I got to see the life of the adults, office workers. Everybody came out to meet people, eat, just having a good time. We went to sit at the fountain and it was kinda nice to get out of the campus while we were still in DC. We were gonna walk into Georgetown but I was tired so we came back to GW campus. We got some smoothies and went to sit at the Kogan Plaza, which has some benches and a fountain and it was all lit up. We just sat there talking until around 9. That felt sooo good. But when I got back to my dorm, I was very tired for some reason. So what did I do?? Blasted some of my fave songs and sang along! I was quite loud too. Anna (yeah, another Anna. She lives next door and we share the bathroom.) told me that she could hear me through the air-condition vent. People could probably hear me from down the hall too. :P But when I had Josh Groban on, Endrit came to join me. LOL...we were singing "You Raise Me Up." He even did the little chorus in the background. That was fun. We had the whole door opened too so the whole hall could hear us. Haha...VERY FUN! But that definitely boosted my energy. I had to do Chem and I needed that. Kevin and I had our little study group. We have class together and lab together too so we had to do some lab work. Not too fun. But I got it done. I didn't feel like sleeping yet. So Anna, Endrit and I talked some more till it got late.
Today was fairly a good day. I had class and work till around 4. I got back and just chilled for a while and tried to write this. But I ended up getting distracted. So finally, we (Anna, Anna from next door, Diana, Sarah, Colin and I) went out to dinner at this Indian restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue. The food was ok, not too good. But the familiar spices and the taste was good. There was a Chinese restaurant right next to it and they had bubble tea so I had to go get that. I don't know if I told you about it yet. But when we went to eat lunch in Charlottesville last weekend, I tried bubble tea for the very first time and it was sooo good! This time it wasn't that good. The big tapioca pearls were all clumped together. Well, Aye did say that restaurant in C-ville has the best bubble tea!! She's right! *wink* After that long dinner, we headed back here. Anna went to a meeting so the rest of us came back here. We went down to the lounge to go chill. We saw these board games so I started reading what they were. Finally, we started to play this game called Outburst which was really funny. At first, Andrew and Endrit were playing pool but they got interested and joined us. Other people that came down joined us too. So it was Andrew, Endrit, Anna from next door and I on one team, and Colin, Erin, Emily and Diana on the other team. Of course, we were just killing them!! Haha. That was a lot of fun. We kept playing and playing for about a few hours until everyone was tired. I still could have gone on but we ended the game. So I came back to my room and blasted Celine and sang along while I typed this up. Yup, that's about that.
So I'm excited about Sunday!!!! Carla, Ali and Arash are gonna come visit me! YAY!!! I'm so happy. My 19 days are really gonna happen, huh?? Haha. I think we're gonna go have lunch and just walk around. I get to show them around. Hehe. So much fun. More of you have to come up and visit me. You guys have your fall break coming up and I don't. So come visit. Matt H. was competing with me the other night about our school holidays! LOL. Apparently, V-Tech is the best. YEAH, RIIIIGHT!! GW ALL THE WAY! :D Anyway, you have to come visit me, especially those who live so close to me!!! Well, k, I'm gonna go see what's up in our Hensley hall. It's half past midnight but I still feel like I can do something. So I'm gonna go see. Talk to ya guyz later!! This weekend is gonna be fun!
