| Steamrunner Class Starship. Project First Submitted-2369 A.D. U.S.S. Unicorn The Steamrunner Class of starship is another of starfleet's latest warship's. Like the Defiant class it is offically dubbed an Escort vessel. The design of the Steamrunner class is revolutionary in it's field with it's rather odd ( some even say grotesque ) looks. One thing cannot be denied though-the Steamrunner class does it's job with extreme precision. During the recent Borg attack on sector 001 the U.S.S Unicorn managed to do heavy damage to the Borg cube, and it had only 40% of it's system operational. It joined the fight in the last minute having left Utopia Planitia with much of it's system's not yet complete. Starfleet, despreate for ship's ordered the Unicorn out of space dock incomplete and against the wishes of the fleetyard commander. However the ship proved itself beyond a shadow of a doubt to be the best warship in the fleet as it proceeded to destroy the cube along side it's fellow starship's in the late hours of the battle. The Steamrunner class feature triple type three warpcores ( altough during the battle with the Borg only warpcores 1 and 3 were operational at 34% of norm) and it is armed to the teeth with Starsfleet latest weapons. |
