The Bagorian resistance to the Cardassians finally won them freedom and with the alliance of the federation, a shaky peace was established between Cardassia, Bajor and the Federation.
The Space Station becam a Federation outpost under the command of Commander Benjamin Sisko and is offically known as post DS9. Early in the Federation reign, it was discovered that a space anomaly exsited not far from Bajorian Solar System. Technically this anomaly is a hole in the normal space-time continuum, as if two different and distant parts of the galaxy were pinched together. It was also discovered that this "worm hole" in space was not an accidental phenomena, but Was, in fact, a controlled situation habited by beings who live in an always state of "Now", a state of "flat-time". Commander sisko reached an agreement with these beings to use thier "worm hole" for travel across the galaxy. The DS9 station was moved to a spot adjacent to the "worm hole", Thus turning post DS9 from a distant place on the frontier of Federation space to one of the most important places in Federation space. |
