To listen to a song ending with .mod(.xm .sm3 etc) you need a player. If you wont to compose a song you need a tracker.

Players:
Winamp	A well known player wich also supurt .mod .xm etc.
XmPlay	Windows player.
Yamp	For windows. Only exept MOD related songs.
PlayerPro	Player and Tracker for Mac.
Mikmod	For Linux.
Trackers:
Screamtracker	Popular, but hard to handle when you are unable to use the mouse.
ImpulseTracker	Like Scream.
Fast TrackerII	One of the best trackers made for PC
DigiTracker	Here you can, like in FT2, use your mouse!
