Insanity is not nice, infact it is terrible.
The individuals incarcerated in this place were either to dangerous or to much of a victum to ever returned to the civilized society. Though it used to be a private institution it is now run by the goverment.
Though it is not uncommon that someone dies or even that someone is murdered in this institution, the year 1983 was special. In the late winter of 1983 a patient named Karel Witman escaped from his cell. Witman was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment and TBS. After having served 15 of his 20 years he was sent to "The Grote Beek", in prison he had profiled himself as a calm and docile inmate but that turned out to be a facade. After escaping from his cell he tried to escape westwing but was locked in by the guards, in his anger he killed two other patients with a sharp glass shard and held 4 others hostage. This situation lasted for 3 whole days until Witman collapsed from sleep deprevation, but before the security guards could overtake him the 4 hostages had turned on him. They tied him up with bedsheets and hung him from the westwing central staircase. Witman was slowly suffocated.
Since that fatal night in the winter of 1983 the westwing isn't quit normal anymore. Often patients have nightmares and rumours account for one having been suffocated in his sleep. The patients say the westwing is haunted, the staff says it is just a coincidance and make believe.
