Eileen Iris Santacruz

My goal is to go to Purdue University. This is a great stem school and has a very good Civil Engineering program. Some obstacles I've had to over come are my family the pressure to prove them wrong because when I was younger a lot of my family didn't believe that I would go to a good school. I don't think many of them thought I would make it as far as I have, why that is I really don't know but I've proved them wrong so far which makes me proud. On the other hand my parents have done many things to make sure I stayed active and happy. My mom joined me into Gymnastics at 18 months and I continued it till i was in 8th grade and got to be on the team competing in level 4. From 6th grade till now I have been playing soccer in the spring and freshman year joined cheer and am currently taking private lessons for cheer. I thank my mom for putting me in gymnastics because it taught me many things and made it very easy to learn new techniques. The down side to being in such a hard sport is that I messed up my knees witch makes it very hard to do many things now and being so young, it is definitely something I am trying to over come so I can keep joining sports.
