Mead
Also known as megethlin, one of the oldest drinks, as drunk by Beowulf - and also rumoured to be the most intoxicating drink on earth.
1 gallon water
1 pint honey
1/4 lb loaf sugar
2 egg whites
1 lemon, peel and juice
1 oz compressed yeast per gallon
Blend the water, honey and sugar together. Stir in the whites of two eggs beaten to a froth. Boil it as long as any scum arises. When lukewarm add the yeast and let it ferment. Add the peel and juice of one large lemon. When it has finished working, bottle it.
