Well, the Shaft is alive and well. As one of the most competitive public universities in the country, the professors feel obligated to give the shaft to their students. I felt my first shaft when I walked into my very first class; Calculus. The teacher (a grad student) started writing greek letters on the board and I was just baffled. Everyone else in the class seemed baffled too so I felt relieved. But then, the teacher blurts out "I assume (phrase used a lot at this school and it means trouble)we have all taken Calculus I in high school." GULP!!! My hand rose up like a peacekeeper missile. I was like hell NO! Teacher didn't really give a damn.
Well, not all of Tech is like that. If you are a computer geek (most are at this school), love to play video games, love to play sports, or love to watch sporting events you will find this school very very attractive. I have made a lot of friends here. The campus is also in downtown Atlanta where it is very close to many sporting events and many clubs. The campus is diverse and you will find people from all over the world. There is bound to be a niche for you to fit into.
There are pretty much two drawbacks. One, the school WILL work you and Two, the girl to guy ratio is not very good (for all you guys). So party animals who like to go babe hunting, you will not be so eager to come to this school.
Here are some more pictures of Tech (some are out of focus)

This is a picture of me in front of SAC field which is 4 artifical football fields bunched together. You also can see the Aquatic Center on the far left-hand side of the picture
