One More Try
Before you vanish from my heart,
Before this fight splits us apart,
Can we share this long last cry,
Since you’ve decided I don’t get one more try.

Can you wipe away this lonely tear,
And remove all of my deep, dark fears,
Kiss me once and look me straight in the eye,
And explain to me why you left so suddenly,
when I said that I’d love you till the day I die.

I didn’t mean to offend you,
And certainly not desert you,
I stared into your eyes and looked down with a sigh,
Knowing that you’re gone forever,
because of the truth behind a lie.

I hope you keep me somewhere in your heart
and maybe even in your mind,
And try to forget the bad times
and remember the good ones you left behind.
Someday I may ask if you can love me again, but I won’t pry,
For now, the only thing that matters is that I had the courage
to ask you for one more try.
